The other day, my guy and I were seeking something to eat late-night, and I suggested Thai or Italian delivery. He immediately turned it down, saying he's not a fan of dialing out for delivery, because it's easier to pick up takeout. How do you feel about it?

maybe once every few months. Most places around here charge like $3 for delivery so I just go pick it up myself.
1I get pizza maybe once a week (or about 3 times a month). The delivery service that I use has my record so I can reorder from previous orders and they don't even need me to sign for my credit card b/c it's all on file. That's a good thing right?
2Never. My husband doesn't like pizza, and we live downtown so we can walk to pick up our take out.
3Almost never. Maybe only when I'm very hung over.
4Never. It doesn't exist where I live.
5rarely pizza, but frequently other stuff. most places in NYC deliver for free with an $8 or $10 minimum order, and with two people ordering its easy to do
6Never - there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance of my apartment. When I moved in 5 years ago, I made a deal with myself that if I was too lazy to cook, I had to go out and actually pick it up. The rule has stuck.
7i'm neutral. i rarely order in or pick up. it's easier to just walk somewhere. plus, it's inevitable that whatever i ordered will get soggy in the box...
all i want to know is where the pizza in the picture came from...
8Rarely but I love doing it!
9When you tip your bacon wrapped hot dog vender well........he will deliver at any time of the early morning.......2 AM--4AM!
10Since college, I have never ordered take out or delivery. The unhealthiness of it grosses me out. So on days we don't cook or go to a sit-down restaurant, we have cereal or make a sandwich. Luckily, my husband will eat anything sitting around the house!
11I never get delivery.
a)I dont know where that pizza has been and i have SEEN what peoples cars can look like or be harboring. I once got a pizza that had cat food and cat hair in the box because the delivery driver had my pizza ON HIS FLOOR.
b) why pay someone to deliver a pizza? and why let some stranger see whats in your house?
12We'd rather go out.
13Once or twice a month! I grew up in an area that didn't have delivery, and so now that it's available to me, I like it! It's wonderful to have food delivered!!!
14I like cooking at home too much to do it, plus the only food you can order around here is extremely unhealthy.
And.. (this is terrible).. when I'm hungry, most of the time I can not wait 20 minutes or longer for something to get to my house =P
BUT! One day, I will start a breakfast delivery service. Or I'll make someone else do it, because I wish for it pretty much every week.
15i used to always get delivery when i lived alone but now that i have my husband, we either go out or cook but rarely get delivery. (to be honest, i don't know if we've EVER gotten delivery together)
16Um...I think the last one must have been 5 years ago, it was something about me being pregnant and too lazy to go out at night for pizza (thanks to craving).
We usually prefer cooking ourselves and the occasional take-out (once every 3 months), as for eating out, we do it like..once every 5-7 months.
17We live in NYC - the land of delivery - but we never order in. We both cook, so most nights one of us is happily at the stove. And if we don't want to cook, we walk out of the building and have a big choice of local places to go that we like. If we want to take out, we usually hit the corner diner or Chinese place and bring it home.
18My husband and I order pizza maybe once a month. The pizza place is about 2 miles away...too far to walk on a busy road but close enough that it only takes 20 from ordering to delivery.
19Every so often, we really want Chinese food and we'll call for delivery so we don't have to drive across town and pick it up.
20I never get delivery because I'm not close enough to anyone who delivers anything. But I would, if it was available...I think it's just as easy to whip up a simple meal (soup, sandwich, cereal, frozen something or other) as to go out and pick something up.
21I get it way too often. I grew up in a place where you could only get pizza. Now being able to go online and get any kind of cuisine delivered right to my door is too tempting.
22that pizza in that picture looks gooooood. i only really order pizza for delivery and i'm trying really hard to cut back on it.
23I cook, cook, and cook some more. My friends drag me out once a month to eat at a restaurant and I'll pick up some zap meals for lazy nights, but I haven't ordered delivery in a long time.
24We never get delivery or take-out. We go out to dinner once in a while but we mostly eat at home.
25Delivery only when my family feels like it...
26About once a week.
27It's how we get our Chinese food. The dude brings it in a Lexus, or on a scooter. He must be doing well.
28I order pizza or chinese takeout a few times a year, but never delivery. Usually when I resort to takeout, I pick it up on my way home after working late.
29Possibly about two times in the last 10 years.
30I haven't got a car, so most things are delivery for me.
31But I really only order pizza and wings, and that's maybe...once a month. On a good month. It gets a little expensive. They added on a delivery charge, which would have originally been my tip for the driver.
Pricey, pricey.
We haven't gotten anything delivered in about a year or so. Pizza arrived cold and squished. . .
And now we live close to a downtown, we walk over there, drive out to get some food, or cook at home. Luckily, cooking at home is our preferred method....even if I'm the only one
cooking
