This new tool is called a corn zipper. You pull it lengthwise along a cob of corn and the sharp teeth will remove two rows of kernels at a time. It's safer than a knife, but I'm not sure what you could do to make it a multi-tasker. Available for $12.

A corn zipper! It had its fifteen minutes, well seconds rather, of fame when Hilary Swank raved about one on Conan O'Brien awhile back.

9oh i want one of those! canned corn is so blah. you can use corn for so many things..salads, corn puddings, soups. i make corn pudding for almost every holiday and trying to cut the corn off of 10 or 20 cobs is so time consuming!

13I love anything that peels of teh skin of fruits or vegetables like a potato peeler. (They come handy on Thanksgiving). This corn zipper seems to be along teh lines of a potato peeler. LOVE IT.
14Corn on the cob hurts my teeth, but I prefer the freshness to canned corn. This may be just what I need

20I bought that last week at william-sonoma. my daughter has braces, & has to have the corn stripped. it works well, but evey few rows gets clogged, & you have to take out the stuck kernals.

You slash open your finger trying to dekernal corn on the cob at a family reunion for a bunch of brace-face cousins and bleed over three cobs of corn and (somehow) your aunt's steak.
Who cares if its a unitasker? I'd do anything to avoid that.
