Viognier - pronounced vee-oh-NYAY - A white wine grape originally planted in the Rhone Valley of France that is now gaining popularity in the vineyards of California and Australia. Best consumed young, this sometimes difficult to find white wine is generally dry with perfumed aromas, a lush and seductive body, and citrus, apricot, and peach flavors. Ohhhh, I've been wondering about one that would go well with spicy foods.
Sounds good....I usually only drink wine with my bf and he likes red wines but we should try this one oif we can get it.
this is my recent fave white wine
Yes, I tried some of this variety for the first time last month at a wine festival!
I love viognier! If you're interested in trying it, look for a bottle of Miner Viognier.
ALSW you might also want to try Riesling and Gewürztraminer with spicy foods. Gewürztraminer can stand up to the most heavily spiced food like Indian or Thai.
Mmm I love this kind of wine!
