When handling stemware, such as wine and champagne glasses, be careful. It's super easy to get caught up in the moment of toasting, being fabulous, and having a little too much wine. This very thing happened to me last week when I was out with some girlfriends. I was so excited that I downed the rest of my Pinot Grigio in one gulp and slammed the wine glass on the bar a teeny bit too hard. The glass broke, the gals laughed, and I was left feeling horribly embarrassed (and it's not the first time I've done it!). Remember that glass is fragile and unless you want a wet messy splattering of dangerous shards at your next fiesta, set down those glasses lightly, and toast with care.
How about you? Have you ever broken a glass during a toast?

ummm about three, I've also shattered beer bottles other people were holding while trying to do the foam over trick. I don't know my own strength.
1lol, no I have never broken a glass during the toast. Thank goodness for stemless wine glasses!
2Not during a toast, usually getting up from the table after too many glasses.
3Not during a toast, but I've broken a lot trying to dry them.
One of my friends has done this so often (and broken 2 of another friend's favorite glasses) that we only give her plastic glasses when she at our homes!
4nope I haven't
5Aww, funny story though!
This has not happened to me, but to my sister. She was getting something out of the fridge, got all excited about it, started jumping up and down, and knocked whatever was in her hand onto some wine glasses that were drying on the counter. It was pretty hilarious. I just laughed while she cleaned up all the glass.
6I've broken wine glasses by dropping, knocking over and setting down too hard on the table. That's one reason why I bought the Riedel stemless glasses. They look gorgeously modern and feel great held in your hands too. Love.
7the wine enthusiast makes these new glasses...i believe they are called "fusion" ...pretty unbreakable.... great for those freinds that have just a little too much
