Tempeh
A fermented dish made from soybeans. It has a cake-like form, nutty flavor and a texture similar to firm tofu. It originated in Indonesia and can be marinated, grilled, or added to soups, casseroles, etc. It is often used as a meat replacement. Sometimes written as Tempe.

LOVE THE KITCHEN AID MIXER!!!
1mmm. i first had tempeh in a taco at 'native foods' and i liked it a lot. even though i'm not a vegetarian, i still LOVE meatless options and could definitely eat an exclusively vegetarian diet should i ever need to. yum.
2If you're nervous about trying Tempeh (For those of you who live in the LA area) a great place to taste it cooked a MILLION different delicious ways is a place called Real Food Daily. Awesome.
PS If you end up going, the fresh squeezed juice is addictive.
