I promised myself that after recapping Sunday night's snooze-o-rama, I would no longer talk about Next Food Network Star. I would have stuck to it too if it wasn't for Anthony Bourdain. He recently posted a new "top secret" memo leaked from the Food Network HQ. Of course it's all just tongue in cheek prose (or is it?!?), but that's what makes it so darn fun. - Ruhlman

as usual Bourdain is right on....
1I did think that the whole JAG thing was very weird, and though I'm glad Amy won it seems like Rory was looking forward to it more. She does have her restaurant to go back to, but still. This whole season ended weirdly.
2LOL wow
3Is Batali no longer with TFN? I thought he was still doing Iron Chef??
4Lara - batali's still with FN, just not in the same capacity as before. Bourdain's message is totally tongue-in-cheek, but maybe a teeny bit telling?
5Unfortunately the link isn't working.
6Yeah, it seems like Ruhlman's blog is down right now. Once it comes back online definitely check out the Bourdain article, but also take a look at what Ruhlman has to say about "The Next Iron Chef America".

Apparently FN is going to have a contest for choosing a new Iron Chef, but they have only real, highly-qualified (and already successful) chefs as candidates. Some of the chefs he mentions in the blog entry make even "Top Chef" contestants look like grind-it-out line cooks. I'm actually looking forward to this one.
7Brilliant!
