Starbucks fans, you may need to break out your piggy bank. Due to the rising cost of dairy and the increase in fuel prices, Starbucks is raising their prices by 9 cents. This is the second price increase in less than a year. - iVillage

hmm. lucky that i really only go there when i have a gift card to use up.
1boooo!!!
2gahhhhh! it's already too expensive as it is here in NY. but i'm with you llendril - i only go there if i have a gift card, too! lol
3Like it's not too ridiculous already.
4I agree ALSW--I do like them when I need coffee, but it is definitely pricey. Everyone's raising prices lately though...
5our upped theirs on sunday already
6How can this be?
7
8I will still get my morning coffee. They raise there prices at least once a year and I keep going back for more. Sigh.
9WE..WILL..STILL..BUY!!
10especially if u live in LA-LA Land, we need our coffee!
pinkcotton, i'm with you. I will continue to buy coffee from Starbucks. The one I go has a drive-thru, so it's really tempting to just drive and get your coffee without getting out of your car. And everyday I cave in and go for it.
11Raising of dairy prices!?! Crazy. I just went today, didnt even notice. Its still worth it
12I usually get a bag of beans anymore, not really drinks. Hopefully they don't raise the price on the beans, since there's no dairy.
13Like it already doesn't cost so much money.
14Thank goodness I bought a box of passion tea. Until that's empty, I don't need starbucks haha
15Ugh...Starbucks is already pretty crappy coffee, and then they go and raise the prices. It's not like they are fair/fairly-traded, organic beans, which is actually worth the cost.
I hate buying Starbucks, and will only go if there is no other coffee shop around. I usually get coffee from organic and fairly-traded shops. Coffee is much better tasting and I feel good for knowing my money is going to help people, not exploit them.
16I stopped going to starbucks a while ago. I dont need to waste my money on an overly expensive coffee
17Wow, that's kinda a lot of price raising in less than a year, guess they gotta pay for those free celebrity drinks somehow
18It's okay. It's up to us to balance out our spendings. Making coffee at home can be fun too.
19a few tips to lower your $
20- if you're into chai tea latte's
get a non-fat steamer with chai (same thing, and a buck cheaper)
- if you're into non-fat lattes
order an iced grande americano in a veinti cup, add dairy and instead of $3.79 it's $2.70
Jerry Seinfeld calls Starbucks "Fourbucks". They have now reached that amount for my double tall, b@stards.
21LAME. They pay for everything with one venti plain coffee.
another cheapie tip (we do this at the cafe i work at, which sells starbucks, therefore same prices [albeit, we haven't raised ours in three years...]): if you like lattes, ask for a doppio (two plain shots) or solo macchiato (one shot) with syrup (if you want), hot or over ice. Then use the condiment bar milk. It won't be hot, so i reccomend an iced doppio/solo.
22noooooooo
this is horrible x.x
23Noooooooooooooo!!
24Geez isn't it enough they are already over priced? this is too much! and yet I can't help but go and buy some coffee.
25AWWWWW GUH-HEH-TOE!!
They are overpriced!! Yet I still. go. anyway!!
26Everything is rising due to gas prices. My local grocery store is now charging about $4.25 for a gallon of milk (!!! that's a $.40 increase!!!) ... this keeps up and this country will see the worst depression it's seen in a LONG time. I bought an espresso machine so I can have my beloved mochas at home now.
27Oh no....oh wait! I don't get my coffee from them. Starbucks coffee always tastes bitter and too strong as if it's been overroasted.
28whoa, schaianne! $4 for milk? i think my grocery store is still charging $2-something. I can't even imagine!
29TIP: If you want to save, get a smaller cup. For example, they sell a sixe "short" but don't advertise it. It's a little smaller then a tall but cheaper
30size*
31as if their prices aren't high enough as is?!?! gggrrrrrrr
32Starbucks coffee tastes like burnt hair anyway.
33what a load of crap!
34At least they give their employees, even part-time, benefits. I try to remember that as I fork over absurd amounts of dough for my beloved coffee (which I make at home AND buy at the coffee shop...) and try not to groan at my addiction.
35lol @ Kerri1 [+] - I agree!
36Oi, why do I have to be so addicted? -_-
37mwmsjuly, you're right. one of the best places to work as far as benefits and perks go. and i literally go to starbucks once, maybe twice a day.. yes, i am a sucker, but as far as the price boost goes, if the price of milk goes up, so does the price of things that include milk. people are trying to increase annual profits, and they can't do that if they are paying more for supplies without adjusting their price.
38is the price ridiculous? yes, but people pay it. we have starbucks literally across the street from each other and they always have a line. the ceo who treats the employees well, and figures out how to increase profits despite paying .09 more for a drink is a great business man.
I'm still going every day. I don't care that my drink costs like 3.80 something now.
39It's not that big of a deal to me. I only get Starbucks on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays....BUT even if I went every morning it would only be an additional $2.79 a month. If you're already forking out the $3-5 it costs per drink, $0.09 cents is not huge.
40um i already pay like $5 for a tall chai tea. double u tee eff.
& what does gas have to do with coffee???
41Milk has been over $4 a gallon here for about a month now, but imagine my surprised when I saw how much eggs cost now!! Almost $2, and that's for the store brand!!
