One of the things I'm going to miss most about Summer is homemade fresh pesto. I just can't get enough of it: I love it on everything from pasta to seafood to sandwiches. However, with its green color and pungent raw garlic, pesto is not enjoyed by everyone. Take my mother, for example; she's crazy about basil but hates pesto. Even though I say, "Mom, pesto is basically liquid basil," she still doesn't like the classic Italian sauce. How about you?

I love it, but I can't eat large quantities of it.
I made some myself this year, after I saw the yumsugar recipe.. it was great, and everybody loved it
when i first tried it i hated it but now i love it.
I am boggled by the thought that anyone might not like pesto.
While visiting my parents last month, my mom and I went to the local organic farm and bought 3 pounds of basil. We made pesto without the cheese from two pounds of it and froze them in freezer bags in two person serving sizes. Now, when we want homemade fresh basil pesto, we buy some parm at the store, defrost a bag of sauce, and mix them together. Voila, fresh homemade pesto throughout the fall and winter!
I like it but can't say I love it. When it's made well, it's fabulous. But I've had some pretty bad pesto, which makes me reluctant.
I happen to love it as long as it's made right. My ex introduced me to it, and he made an excellent one
THanks Hyzenthlay20. I made a small batch to eat and want to make more but wasn't sure it would freeze.
Non-lover of pesto. Not a fan of basil.
I don't love it. I think it's very strong-tasting. I like it as a spread for a sandwich, but I don't see how people can eat it with pasta and stuff. That's a little much for my tastes.
Love it! I use it for everything.
haha, I thought the exact same thing as amelioratelj. Pesto is SO good. I make some great sun dried tomato pesto.
yum!
I am with you amelioratelj, I didn't realize that there are people who don't like pesto. I happen to love it, especially when it is used to replace the tomato sauce on pizza.
I really like it!
I just had some love it
A baguette and pesto. Heaven!
i absolutely love pesto! whenever my mom makes it, she always has to make extra because i devour it!
Pesto is too oily for me.
I rather use fresh basil and garlic than pesto.
I adore pesto anything.
No thanks for me.
I only like it sometimes. I'm not the biggest fan of basil, it's very strong tasting to me. Plus people in my town are HUGE pesto fans so I think I've OD'd over the years.
Got to have it on my sandwich!!!!!!
I don't love it, I never crave it, but I will eat it, and enjoy it. I do spread some on a cucumber sandwhich, and THAT I love!
i'm on the fence about this one. there are times that i really like it and others that it's just too much. i've had people add way too much garlic when making a pesto sauce and even though i love garlic, it's at times turned me off to pest because of that.
I love pesto, but I've also had some bad things that people called "pesto".
the trick is to fill an ice cube tray with pesto then stick it in the freezer. once frozen you can put them in a baggie or whatever. but either way, you can simply heat up some pasta then put in an "ice cube" of pesto and it'll melt right into the pasta and taste delicious!
