Several days ago, I was one of a party of eight to enjoy lunch at an acclaimed new restaurant in town, RN74. For the most part, my dining companions and I all ordered different things, and even though I'd never met any of them, we had no qualms sharing our courses and even swapping plates.
"There are two kinds of people in this world: sharers and keepers," one of my fellow diners astutely remarked. I thought she was absolutely right — and was grateful that everyone at the table happened to be a plate-sharer. At a restaurant, which one are you?

i am a sharer but i don't tend to pass my plate around except if i'm full and they're going to finish it
1I'm a sharer but it irks me if someone automatically starts trying to eat off my plate without asking. RUDE!
2H1N1 no.......especially with people I do not know!
3I'm a sharer with people I'm close to, like family members and close friends. It's weird if it's people you don't know.
4I'm a sharer, but as others said, only with people I know. I have friends who don't share, and it drives me insane because they will eat my food anyway.
5With my wife. I suspect a lot of men don't like to.
6Hmm, maybe not with a complete stranger, but with anyone I am pretty acquainted with, sure.
7With close friends and family, sure. With acquaintances and strangers, no.
8Um, no way...I order food based on the fact that it's the dish I want to eat; not something I want to share with everyone else.
9I share with my hubby (or the children if they're with us) but that's it.
10The old ball and chain always gets mad because I always seem to find that food on his plate tastes better than mine! I think it's a psychological thing.
11No thanks.
I'll keep my own plate and I don't want yours.
12One time, at a family dinner out, we invited a friend at the last minute and when the food came and we started passing forkfuls of food, he was dumbfounded. We apologized for making him uncomfortable, and he waved off the apology and said it was great--he'd just never seen a family do that. (And he joined in the sharing afterward.)
13Also, my husband's not into doing this at all. He's told me a number of times that he's surprised he doesn't mind it when I nibble off his plate--he's never not minded before. (I suspect this has something to do with his having four older brothers.)
