My gal Giggle sent me this video the other day. We all know about fish sashimi, but have you heard of horse, deer, or chicken sushi?! Be sure to check out the video and then tell me, would you eat raw meat sushi?

no way would I eat anything raw... even tuna or salmon
It depends on what kind of meat.
not chicken. ever. but maybe a different meat . . . i like to try new things.
I love sashimi and must try this before I die.
In France we eat the "Tartare" (Raw hamburger with onion, egg, oil, parsley,...) or Carpaccio (I think it's Italian. It's thin slices of beef with olive oil, basil, parmesan...)
Love it!
I think I'll try red meat with Japanese flavor... but not chicken...
Absolutely not. I have no problem with raw fish, but I have just now begun to get over an intense aversion to meat that isn't cooked through completely.
i would never eat the chicken, but if it was beef... hells yeah! beef tartar is great.
I'll try anything once! Although, I must admit, I'll have to talk myself through the chicken.
this is a big N-O for me. I was "accidentally" served sashimi chicken from the Olive Garden (my stuffed chieck was ran in the center, unbeknownst to me b/c of all the cheese and i woke up the next morning, violently ill, and stayed that way 2 days because of salmonella poisoning. so...yea. big no for me. and, since i took a class on food bourne illnes, i will not eat raw hamburger, but, as long as the beef is heated to 165 degrees on the outside for 15 seconds, i will eat it no matter how raw in the center (as that kills all the germs)
no. i really don't like anything raw...
i love beef tartar and carpaccio, and eat both often! yum! on a recent iron chef episode, the secret ingredient was "blue foot" chicken, which alton explained was free from salmonella due to how it is raised/handled. so, yeah, i'd give it all a try
No way. that is just disgusting!
I went to a wedding in Tokyo and there were a group of us looking for dinner one night. We couldn't read any of the menus so we just looked at prices and if the place looked clean or not. About ten of us sat down in this really nice restaurant and there was only one menu in english. We were starving and it was taking too long for all of us to get a look so we just started ordering things for the table. Most of us ordered the same thing. Our first dish arrived and it was rice with raw chicken on top and a raw egg on top of that. Half of us freaked and the other half (myself included) went ahead and ate it. It was not delicious but wasn't inedible. We looked around the restaurant and there were pictures of chickens on everything, the wallpaper, napkins, carpet. Most of the menu was raw chicken!! My husband could not get out fast enough. I figured that the place was clean and nice and if they were making people sick they would not be in business.
I've had Kobe beef sushi a few times, and it is realllllly good!
I would try most meats except for chicken.
No thank you.
Why not ? I already eat raw beef as tartar or as Carpaccio and I just love it. However, I would not eat raw meat anywhere, I need to be sure it's really fresh (like fish sushi after all). I'm not really sure that I would eat raw chicken but it's more because I don't like chicken that much (it's ok but no more) than because it's raw.
Can someone tell me something? I have never had tartar so i don't want to say i don't like it, but.....i learned that the germs that are presento n the outside of beef are ground and distributed throughout the entire thickness of the beef. I know that is why in the states for the most part, alot restaurants only serve their ground beef well done.
Is tartar a different grade of beef or kind of beed?
No thank you. I couldn't do it.

I'd choke!
I must say my first reaction was to say NO WAY!!! haha but then I remembered about the carpaccio, and now I am not so sure I'd completely reject the idea. Although chicken might not be so nice to eat raw.
Nope.
Anything at least once. Even the chicken. Just like the raw fish, It'd have to be from somewhere I completely trust, but if I trust their raw fish, then I'd trust other things from them.
I think I'd be too scared to eat raw chicken, the only way I eat deer is if it's sausage form, and I haven't tried horse yet. I have enough issues eating blue steak, but oddly enough, I love fish sushi.
I ate horse sushi without knowing what it was. It was good, but I felt sort of bad afterward.
I had raw deer sushi before. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't something that I would get again. Reminded me too much of Bambi.
who came up with this interesting fusion?
Er, is it healthy to do that?
I have eaten Carpaccio many times and I think I tried raw ground beef prepared in an Ethiopian style. I don't think I would try raw chicken though.
Gross. I am a big sushi fan, but beef, deer or poultry sushi - No way!
eeeek, no way!
sure. as long as you go to a well respected
place, you can be sure to trust the establishment
to provide good meat.
Think I'll stick with regular sushi, but depending on the circumstances and restaurant, I might give it a shot.
I don't know how I feel about raw deer or whale...
I'm not sure I would even eat cooked deer or horse...
no..even though ill eat sushi..but meat seems a bit too much for my stomach to handle.
I love raw beef, lamb and venison, don't mind raw pork but don't like raw chicken -it's a texture thing I think.
Don't understand why more of you have not tried bits while you were cooking - have you no curiosity?
