When I worked in a Spanish bar as a la chica de cafe, carrying more than two coffee drinks without a tray was impossible. I can't help but wonder how these linkable mugs by Jonathan Aspinall would affect the barista's job. As many as six coffee mugs link together to form a large line of cups that's easily carried by holding only two of the mugs. These seem like an ingenious invention, but wouldn't they be really heavy when filled with steaming coffee?? I'm undecided about these vessels, how about you?

I don't know. I mean, it's an interesting concept, but I can't see me using them around the house. And I'm with you, party, wouldn't it be too heavy and unwieldy to actually carry?
Well, it would depend on how heavy the filled mugs would be and how easy it is to take them apart. I honestly can't see myself removing six mugs without spilling half the drinks.
That is just too dangerous for my coordination. I would probably not link them correctly and one in the middle would fall making a big mess.
i think a tray is nice.
Those are so cute! But I would only have like 3, maybe 4, mugs to carry if they're full to the brim.
It's a great idea if it works
love them!
I love this idea! I'm living in England right now where it's good manners to ask your office mates if they'd like a cup of tea when you go to make yourself one. I've had to juggle 6 mugs of tea through various obstacles before (doors, staircases, etc). This invention would've helped out a lot!
No, I don't think so.
In other news today, Starbucks filed for bankruptcy after the jury awarded John Doe 5 gazillion dollars after 6 cups of coffee were simultaneously spilled on their lap...
Awkward!! I'd be too afraid the mugs in the middle would collapse.
thats really interesting. this would be great even for 3 mugs...maybe not so many as shown.
I'm with Tee0206 - I can imagine spilling the drinks when trying to pull the mugs apart.
not that into it.
It's a cool design idea, but also looks like an accident waiting to happen. When those mugs are all full of hot coffee/tea, wouldn't they be terribly heavy?
What's the point if you can't take them apart without scalding yourself?
If it's helpful for baristas, then hell yeah! Besides, it's easy to take apart.
Not into it.
I love it in a busy coffeehouse setting.
I would definitely buy this.
I'm thinking that UNlinking them may result in spilled HOT beverage ... OUCH. No thanks.
Cute idea, but I don't know how well it would actually work in practice.
seems pretty ingenious, if it actually functions when all the mugs are full
