Today, September 13, is the birth-anniversary of Milton Snavely Hershey, a very prominent figure in the candy world. The founder of the Hershey's chocolate empire was born to a respectable Pennsylvania family in 1857. A true example of extraordinary perseverance, Hershey experienced failure after failure before striking it rich with his super creamy caramels. He was one of the first confectioners who valued the importance of using fresh milk to make quality candy.
Hershey's caramels caught the attention of a European candy importer and a huge sale allowed Hershey to experiment in other aspects of candy making. He began to produce all varieties of baking chocolates, establishing a business that continues to thrive and grow in the present day.
I always have a bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup in my fridge, how about you guys? Is Hershey's a part of your life?

2I live very nearby Hershey, PA, and so Hershey is much a part of my life and those in the area. For more information on Milton Hershey's life, you can read a piece I wrote for US Airways magazine in Feb. 2006. The link is a PDF, and the story begins on Page 8 of the document.
3Hershey's has always been a part of my life. It's been my favorite chocolate bar since I was a little girl, and man do I love those hershey's kisses!!
4Hershey's has been a part of my life forever. I've been going to Hershey Park since I was little, eating their chocolate, and just loving their products!
Now I just want to try their spa!
5Hershey's chocolate is the ultimate classic! Who doesn't remember having hershey's chocolate syrup in their fridge? I don't eat much chocolate anymore, but you can never go wrong with Hersheys! Plus I looooooove their new caramel chocolate kisses! Yummy!
I loved Hershey Park too! That was so much fun! Chocolate everywhere! Lots of free samples too! Yummy!
6When I was in high school I had this old geezer of an econ teacher. He really was a geezer with his wild, white hair and his fluorescent green socks. He grew up in the old Hershey orphanage. He would tell us stories about Mr. Hershey as this old guy in a grey suit who kept his pockets full of chocolate kisses to hand out to the kids. How can you beat the combination of kindness AND chocolate?
7Noooo not really...I get hershey kisses from my man every now and then...but, I like my Bernard Calorie-Butt hahaha!

9I've actually been utilizing Hershey products a lot in my life, lately. From chocolate milk made from Hershey syrup to adorning the dinner table with Hershey Caramel Kisses to take the sting out of The Fiance's long, hard day at work. Hershey = Love!
10I keep chocolate chips, semi-sweet bars & dry cocoa in the icebox as a staple for my baking projects. I use the Hersey's chocolate candy bars for using as topping. (I grate it and sprinkle it on alot of desserts)During the holidays I use the Kisses to make cookies. So yes... I keep Hersey's products on hand.
11I too have the ever present bottle of Hershey's syrup in my fridge. I love my chocolate milk but I can't have it till I stop breastfeeding
12Hersheys is a great chocolate brand ! Happy Birthday
13I actually don't like chocolate. But, I always have Hershey's powdered baking cocoa just in case I bake something that needs it....and i won't eat it. hehe.
14I'm a brit, so I never tasted hersey's chocolate until I went to N.Y in 1998. Then I had hersey's chocolate cake and their chocolate bar too. Now I ALWAYS have a bottle of hersey's chocolate syrup in my cupboard!!! Even if I have to cross country to buy it!
15I love Hershey's! It is, by far, my favorite chocolate. I used to eat it every other day, when I was a teen. I would still be doing it, if my metabolism hadn't slowed down.
I have a bottle of Hershey's regular chocolate syrup, as well as Hershey's dark chocolate syrup, in my fridge at all times.
I love to get their special dark chocolate bar & dip each section into peanut butter. It's so good. When my hubby brings one home for me I do that one section a day, until it's gone!
My boyfriend's name is Hershey's!!! (I saw that on a t-shirt once.)
