A new restaurant called "The Company" is moving into the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas. While I can't tell you who's going to be at the executive chef helm, I can tell you who's behind the idea: Wilmer Valderrama, Nick Lachey and Nicky Hilton.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Valderrama said that The Company is going to have a special vibe and flavor, especially created for Las Vegas.
"There's a lot of great restaurants in Vegas, but this is exciting because it's a different branding, kind of next generation type things."
When asked why he was partnering with Lachey and Hilton, Valderrama stated that the opportunity was just right.
"Nick and I started talking about doing some stuff together, and Nicky's always been really sweet. Then we started talking to ... PURE [nightclub] management, and they gave me the opportunity to be part of this one."
The eatery is set to open in a few months, and I'm curious to see what will make it "next generation." Until then, I want to know, what do you think of the celebrity-turned-restauranteur trend?

so basically it's going to be another overpriced celebrity restaurant
1Ha, tatti33, probably so. That's a weird trio if you ask me...
2I agree..it's a weird, random combination..i'd be interested in seeing their menu..but then opting for a buffet in vegas
3these celebs can be so predictable. you either have a clothing line or a restaurant or in some cases both.
4I love it! I'm willing to pay for a great meal and a fun atmosphere and these random celebrity restaurants make eating out (which I would anyway) just a little more fun!
5shopgal10 - funny that you mention that, in the people interview wilmer also talks about his clothing line, no joke!
6He partnered with Nicky because "she has always been sweet"? That's a good business move there, Wilmer
7I know that Nick and Wilmer are friends. I don't know about Nicky but at least it's not her sister.
8If Nick will be waiting tables I would go!
9what an odd combination!
10I'm all for adventurous and bored actors, but give me a break! First they want to be singers, then design clothes, then make a new religion.... the madness ends here people!
Food is so much more then putting a celebrity face to it. I think if they want to cross over into food, it shoud be frozen food, so people like me who work real hard in a restaurant don't get compared to food that tastes like that 70s show.
Remember what happened to Britney Spear's restaurant? It was a hot thing to do so she had opened a restaurant and then it gets written up for major violation. Ok, so there are some celebrities who go about it the right way, I guess I'm just saying, the food industry can be like a secret society. So leave it to the people who truly love it.
11They are investing in a restaurant, not cooking or waiting tables. There's a difference. Just like celebrities putting their names on clothing lines.
12Well I hope you're right 'Romes'...I mean who would eat somewhere, where you don't know *who has did what sexually* on one of the chopping tables in the back...that's adventurous for them. But that is disgusting for the rest of us.
And I agree with Tatti's first comment up there.
