Ok, I feel silly, because I didn't realize cranberry sauce went on turkey! In my defense, my relatives always just ate it plain, and I have been a vegetarian since I was young, lol XD
Both here too Well, I don't dump both on or anything...gravy on the turkey,
cranberry sauce on the side which I then add to my turkey fork-fulls. Om nom nom.
Both. In a Thanksgiving dinner, much like Chinese takeout, all foods can be comfortably mixed and eaten arbitrarily together. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, gravy, etc.
tori--My family is the SAME WAY!! I never thought cranberry sauce went ON the turkey because we always just ate it plain, like a side dish. Therefore, I only usually put gravy on the turkey
and eat the cranberry sauce separately.
Here's the deal... as far as eating it "with" the turkey--as in, ON the turkey--it's gravy all the way. But as far as completing the turkey-eating experience? Both are totally necessary.
I married my husband for his Mother's gravy, so it's gravy all the way! I find cranberry sauce a little too bitter to eat with my Thanksgiving meal, but I do put it on my Thanksgiving
sandwich!
I'm a cranberry girl all the way. I think my grandmother's gravy grossed me out so badly that I don't like gravy on anything anymore. Last year there were so many people at my annual Can't Go
Home for the Holidays Thanksgiving Dinner that we ran out of cranberries (bad planning on my part),and we ended up using the lingonberries that I had in the fridge from IKEA and it was a
great substitute. I've actually added them to the shopping list for this year.
I think it comes down to whether you're more of a sweet or a savory person. I am a savory person, so gravy will always be my choice before cranberry sauce.
Both! I get some cranberry sauce and a little gravy on the fork with the turkey and it's awesome! Or I butter a roll, put a piece of turkey and the cranberry sauce, some mashed potatoes and
then the gravy!!! Oh man I'm already looking forward to next Thanksgiving!

5My turkey's so moist, it needs neither. But my turkey gravy kicks ass nonetheless.

15Both! But a leftovers sandwich really gets a yummy kick in the pants with a layer of homemade cranberry sauce--no gravy or bacon.

17Gravy has always kind of grossed me out. Don't know why. I think it's the fat. Cranberry all the way in any form.
18BOTHHHH!!! I put some cranberry sauce (the whole berry kind of course) on top and then pour the gravy over. Delicious.
