I'd take a pic of it, chew the manager out, suggest they fire the chef, and write a letter with a pic attached to the corporation. That is just inexcusable in ANY restaurant business, let alone a chain restaurant. Gross.

I would ask for a manager, and send it back through her or him. In process, I would get a menu and point out the GROSS pictoral discrepency - allowing that I expect some, but not to this degree. I would not ask for anything new, let my friends finish the meals they got, and ask for the entire bill to be comped. It's the least they can do. I would not take a coupon for another visit in exchange for a comped meal, nor would I take a comp and a coupon. This is just an unacceptable presentation, even for a chain.

I will never eat at
applebee's again. I found a wad of hair at the bottom of my dish one visit. Another visit consisted of mystery meat that was supposed to be chicken but definately was not!!

This is what you get for eating at Applebee's! Papa Bella and I were on a road trip this summer, and we ate at one on the road. Oof, it was not good. Come to think of it, our food looked NOTHING like the menu photo, too!

Applebee's is the worst! I'd eat at Denny's before I'd eat there, and that's not saying much!

I'd try to eat it, and then, when it turned out to be as disgusting as it looked, I'd send it back. A lot of things that look kind of gross can be tasty, but I doubt this is one of them. However, I'd feel like I was being too pushy if I sent it back without trying to eat it.

This is exactly why The Fiance calls it, 'Crapplebee's' and refuses to ever eat there.

I'd complain, then leave the restaurant without paying for the meal, and not return. Before I read the caption, I thought the fries were a block of head cheese! The Applebee's here is pretty decent, I haven't had a bad meal, but friends of mine had bobbypins baked into their pizza once.

generally, i try not to base my expectations on the menu photos. however, the 'reality' pic of those fries were an entirely different matter! suffice to say, the fries weren't prepared correctly.

why are they cylindrical? that's what's boggling me.

i would send it back as well. one of the points of eating out is getting quality or at least decent food and enjoying the atmosphere. i don't think either is achieved here.

Amyinthesky, they're probably cylindrical b/c they came out of a can that was probably sitting on the shelf since 1994. Crapplebee's is f*cking sick, I'll never eat there again, therefore thank you yum for posting this.

I WOULD LEAVE. NEVER EAT AT APPLEBEE'S! I haven't had a good experience at one in years, and I'm being nice. This place should be closing in a few years, for poor food, service, and cleanliness. Applebee's used to be okay, maybe 7-8 years ago. I will never go there again.

I would never eat at an Applebee's to begin with. They're just as bad as Denny's. But yeah, I would complain about that food and ask for something else.

I couldn't tell it was fries until I read the info & even then I had to re-examine the picture! How did they get the fries to stick together like that?

At the most, I would ask for some regular fries. I don't think I would even want to eat the burger, because all I would be thinking about were those nasty fries & how they got that way!

I have never liked Applebee's. I try to give restaurants a second, and sometimes third, chance, but all three of the Applebee's we have in our area are terrible.

I like Shiny Blue Apple's comments. But I've never liked Applebee's, so this doesn't really surprise me.

Sadly I stopped going to the local Applebee's years ago over the same issue... of badly prepared food.

Thats what happens when you go to Applebees/Chilis/Fridays.
Davis has plenty other choices for good food.

I'd absolutely make the manager aware and ask for that to be taken off of my bill. I really don't like Applebee's ... and that would be one example of why.

I can't even believe that someone would serve this to a customer. Fries are not supposed to be in a cylinder shape. They are supposed to be COOKED and able to pick up one at a time.

It's digusting I'd have sent it back, complained to the management and asked if the had a complaint book where I would have written out my disgust and then I'd have left the restaurant and boycotted the chain!

I would send it back!!! The other week I went to Applebees and ordered their Sante Fe Chicken Salad.... oh my goodness. The lettuce looked 2 weeks old and was brown and soggy... I ate the chicken and send the rest back. They didn't charge me for any of it. I had to eat the chicken, I couldn't wait for another meal. I was on my work lunch!

I love how the other person's fries look completely normal... I would definitely send it back, but thankfully I don't eat at Applebee's and never would - yuck!

That has got to be one of the most nastiest of things i've ever laid my eyes on. I would send those back immediately....

I would have asked for the manager, had him look at it, send it back and order something elese. Go home and emailed the company about my experience and send the picture if possible.
