My grandfather's birthday is next week and I want to surprise him by making a fun shaped cake. I've never used a cake mold before, but since they're super trendy right now, I thought it would be fun to experiment with one.
Unfortunately, I don't own a single cake mold. Can you please help me find one? Search the web for a cake mold with a creative and original shape. It should be easy to clean or dishwasher safe. Party, I could go online and find you a great one, but if you have a TJ Maxx or Marshall's nearby, you can probably find one for half the price. Nordicware makes great pans. My current favorite is shaped like a castle. (You could use the theme, "King for a Day"!

4OK...so I was having a REALLY slow morning and I went a little crazy with the cake molds. I love baking and this was a little too much fun
5I love my sunflower one from William Sonoma. It's a perfect design for any time of year and to make it very easy to clean, I prep the mold with Pam spray and dust it with flour before pouring in the batter.
6Homegoods has a lot of weird cake tins! As does linens n' things. I found some cool castle and rose shaped ones. Not so great for a grandfather but still cool.
