26The cookie was created at the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts. During the 1930s, the inn was well known for its restaurant that served home cooked style meals and amazing cookies.
I used to live about 5 mns from where the original inn was, the sign used to still stand there, in Whitman, MA but alas they ripped it down to build a Wendy's.
Go figure.
