Kimchi
A traditional Korean dish made of fermented, seasoned vegetables — such as cabbage and radishes — that are pickled and stored tightly in pots or jars. It is spicy-hot and is served as a condiment with almost every Korean meal.

i love love love love kimchi!
ah, kimchi and rice...kept me from starvation on those cold winter days when i was too lazy/tired to cook after a long day of classes
eating it doesn't do much for your social life though, what with the funky breath that mints can't quite erase :op
my fave part of eating korean food is the array of side dishes that come with every order. there are hundreds of varieties of kimchi and they are all delicious! i only have two friends that like kimchi. my family cannot stand it! it is definitely an acquired taste. unless you grew up eating it, you are not likely to enjoy it as an adult. it also has a distinctive smell. remember pavlov's dogs? the mere thought of kimchi illicits the same reaction in me!
Ahaha i was in a movie with Jane Lynch where I was the "foreign exchange student" which is funny cuz i'm so white and we couldn't think of a name, so we named me Kim Chee. Hilariosity. I need a good place to buy some kimchee...
It looks kind of weird, anyone know what it tastes like?
love love love kimchi
diana172, it tastes like spicy cabbage. there's different varieties of kimchee and different levels of spice and fermentation. i certainly don't think it's easy to eat if you haven't grown up with it or if you're not particularly adventurous. if you don't like spice, don't even bother.
