Two Buck Chuck better watch its back — it's about to face some stiff competition. On Tuesday, 7-Eleven announced its plans to release value wines in the United States and Japan.
7-Eleven will launch two proprietary California wines — a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon — to roughly 15,000 outlets under the Yosemite Road label. They will each retail for $3.99.
The Chardonnay is described as having notes of apricot and peach, while the Cabernet will have "juicy plum overtones." So if you're missing your favorite stone fruits from Summer, perhaps it's about time to reach for some Yosemite Road wine. Would you fork over $4 for convenience-store vino?

Meh, I don't think it's a big deal - kind of like 2-buck Chuck, right?
I'm from NJ and we can't sell liquor in non-liquor stores here, anyway. That was part of the weirdest part of moving from Staten Island - why is there no beer in the bagel shop/deli/supermarket??
1I'd try it, why not?
2I can't think of two wines I dislike more than Chardonnay and Cab, so this will be easy to avoid. Now, if the label had the cute Domo face like the coffee cups, I'd buy it just for the packaging.
3Why not sell this in Canada Eh? I'd drink it
4Oh, barf.
5I don't drink wine, but I'd use this for cooking maybe.
6I'm always up for anything new! What am I gonna be out $4.00, I can afford that. Never heard of Two Buck Chuck.
7definitely.
8I bet that taste awful.
9No way, Jose. I would not drink these wines. Especially if the label looked like that.
10This is offending my Frenchness LOL!
11Oh, I'd give anything for them to bring them to 7-Elevens in China. I don't care what it is, it'd have to be better than Great Wall Dry Red Wine.
12Yum, I think when these come out a blind office tasting is in order!
13Party, love the idea!

Can't sell it in Canada! Only liquor stores are allowed to sell liquor so 7-11 wouldn't be allowed to sell it in their own stores. LOL Can you imagine bottles of $4 wine next to a slushee machine? hahaha... woooww. i bet this stuff is naaasty
