There is a lot of controversy concerning where Jessica Seinfeld got the inspiration for her new book, Deceptively Delicious, which is about tricking kids into eating healthy foods. Did she steal her ideas from another best-seller called The Sneaky Chef? — New York Daily News

Hiding veggies in food is nothing new.
I know that Jessica Seinfeld is all about purees. Everything is puree. But she does pair her meals with raw or steamed veggies also.
Ive never looked at The Sneaky Chef but are they all about purees too? If they are then there is something fishy going on
I heard though that ever since this controversy came out the sales for Sneaky Chef have gone up so it cant be too bad
1I don't see what the big deal is. There are multiple cookbooks on every kind of cuisine, method of cooking etc. No one owns the rights to publish a cookbook on Mexican Food, or low-fat cooking. I can't see how this is any different. Either way I think it's a brilliant idea. I loved seeing the kids on the Oprah show declare their hatred for all veggies, and then find out they had been eating them in everything.
2I read about this. I agree with JessNess, there are so many similar recipes, hiding veggie ideas that there are sure to be a million similar recipes.
3I think the problem was that The Sneaky Chef approached Seinfeld's publisher first, and then they went to Jessica Seinfeld and came up with her book, no...?
My mom ordered this for me. I already mix baby food into a lot of what I make for the kids. So, I'll see what her book offers that is new...
4I want this book! My 3 year old won't touch veggies, I do sneak carrots and zucchini into her spaghetti, but I want to know more!
5Eh, the concept of pureeing veggies and hiding them in food is an old one. Tons of articles and tips have been written about it. Kinda hard to plagarize something that is really just a common sense idea.
6I thought of the Sneaky Chef when I saw the JS book come out, but yes - there are many other cookbooks that are similar to eachother. My problem with it is, if we have to be sneaky - how will the kids ever learn to appreciate the veggies as stand alone? With kids you just have to keep at it and introduce new ways of eating the veggies such as sauteed, in a quesodilla, new ways of eating a side. Tastes change, and if you let your child tell you they don't like it they never will. My son kept telling me he didn't like onions and wouldn't eat them when he was 2,3,4. Now, at 9 he loves them and likes them on everything. Keep exposing the kids to it and stop sneaking already!

8kiddylnd- Jessica Seinfeld says that even though she hides veggies in her kids food she places raw or steamed veggies on their plates so that they dont think they are getting away without eating real veggies
9Maybe, but probably not intentionally.
10Something about that Jessica Seinfeld doesn't seem right to me. When I heard she had a cookbook, it took fully 5 minutes to get my eyes to stop rolling. No lie.
11Lol, terry!
