When I first saw this S-XL baking pan, I thought it was pretty cool. It's a silicone mold that pre shapes any cake into fifteen separate, different sized slices. It allows one person to have a small piece and another to have a large piece. Yet, the more I thought about it, the more I disliked it. It won't really work for any cake; what happens to the indentations when you frost it? Actually, with the uneven layers, can you even frost it? What do you think?

Nevermind the portion size, it just makes the cake look more interesting. I like it.
It looks cool, but it's kind of silly. Just cut the size piece you want.
I like it, it would work for cakes like angel food cake since you don't frost it.
I don't like it. I'll stick to slicing off the portion I want.
We are so lazy that we get a cake mold that is cut into pieces! haha I mean if you are going to eat cake, at least use some calories to cut it! lol
But it does look cool though!
I'm with LV, definitely makes the cake look interesting.
I like it! It's just a neat idea. It would work with a glazed cake, too, as well as an un-frosted one
It would look really cool frosted - gives it a bit of a funkier look. You could line each of the portions with berries or those silver candy ball things.
Frosting is nasty anyways.
interesting concept
and what about the swivel liqueur glasses? and the mocha dunk mug? they're GENIUS!
pretty silly idea
Frosting is the best part.
Artists like it for dimension - not for practicality. I like it!
Good in theory, maybe not so good in practice due to the frosting issues.
i would never buy this... but i'd use it if someone gave it too me. i don't hate it.
Who can't figure out how to slice a cake? Seriously?
Who would even eat a piece of cake as big as the large slices??
Someone that really likes cake would.
I think I'd need 2 of the large slices.
Yeah, that'd be perfect.
I think it would work really well for coffee cakes.
why coffee cakes?
You just cut the slices for how much people want.
love the design.
i kinda like it and hate it at the same time
Ehhh, I'm not too sure about this. The concept is cool, but, it looks like one of those things that my Mom sets out as "decoration only" at Christmas. lol
That's so incredibly stupid, I can't imagine anyone buying it. Just cut the cake into different sized pieces like we've been doing since cakes were invented!!!!
It looks really cool and I don't like frosting anyway.
Plus, as someone mentioned you could frost or add berries to each part individually (like you frost cookies individually) and it would look even cooler!
I'm thinking about this tectonic plates cake we were trying to make for a friend who majored in geology. The mould would've come in handy!
why not just cut out the size piece you want?
just cut the size piece you want.
Exactly. If you want a small piece of cake just cut a small piece. Plus I would think it would be very difficult to get the cake out of this pan in one piece.
How hard is it to slice a cake... really?
Not at all but it's still sort of neat...
Waste of moolah right?
How did I get here? I just realized that I don't think I care about cake molds! Ha!
