The big feast is just a few days away, and while all of your thoughts are on shopping and prepping, be sure you don't overlook the leftovers. If you're like most Americans, your fridge is going to be crammed with leftovers the day after. To avoid this, why not send some of them home with your friends and family? If you can, head over to your local craft store and pick up some fun Take-Out Boxes. If you don't have access to a craft store, then pick up some cheap plastic containers such as Gladware or Ziploc. This way, when your guests are ready to hit the road, you can send them home with some of the food, and not have to worry about whether or not you'll see that bowl again.
If all else fails and there are no containers to be had, use Ziptop plastic bags. It's not very glamorous, but it will definitely make transportation a lot easier.
Alternatively, if you're a guest at someone else's dinner, consider bringing your own containers. It does sound a bit presumptuous, but if your hosts are not prepared, it will make things much easier. Plus you'll be able to avoid the, "Oops! We still have so-and-so's plates."

This is what I'm looking forward to most, my family supplying me with leftovers for weeks to come.
Okay maybe not weeks but you know what I mean
1Yupp I got a ton!
2First holidays NOT living at home so my boyfriend and I were stocked up for weeks with food!
Ask folks to bring their re-usable containers if they live in the same area. Less waste is generated if some new containers do not need to be bought.
3As a gift going to my boyfriend's house I typically brought flowers and tupperware rather than more food (they always make too much). But the good, snap down on all sides kind of tupperware always goes over well.
4I save up all my plastic containers from cream cheese, yogurt, grated cheese, cottage cheese, etc. from all year, and haul them over to my mom's for leftovers. My brothers don't think ahead, so they're lucky to have me supplying them with containers.
5We bought all the supplies to make T-day dinner last night and made sure to include some Plastic Containers.. also picked up foil (to wrap up turkey leftovers) and large ziploc's just in case!
6if we have time, I always send everyone home with 4 turkey sandwiches.
7The closer it gets the more excited I am.
8I love holidays, huh?
9Yummy yummy turkey sammiches in my belly
10\for how long I wonder.
11My fridge is full!!!
12My mother buys Tupperware just for me to take food home and then keep the containers. Awww mom...
13mama-they're lucky they have you to supply them with the goods.
14I'll need you next yr.
