Trifle
A delicious layered dessert. Originally from England, it usually consists of sponge cake or ladyfingers soaked in liquor. The cake is covered with jam, custard or whipped cream and garnished with shaved chocolate, fresh fruit, or candied nuts. It's best served after several hours of refrigeration.

Thanks for the recipe Syako, many of my friends made trifles but I was curious to try that myself.

Syako, haha OMG I have watched WAY too much Friends because I know that line by heart! Good episode though, Joey: "Whats not to like? Custard - good, jam - good, meat - good!"

I can't think of trifle without thinking of that Friends episode. I'd probably be looking for the "beef sauted with onions and peas" layer!

I love making trifles! You can create so many different once based on your tastes. My favorite, and all-time best, was a strawberry trifle. I happen to get ahold of some perfectly sweet strawberries for it! Mmmm...
