You've got to put Central Market on this list...
I've never heard of most of the places on this list! 99% of the time I shop for groceries, I go to Trader Joe's. I LOVE that place!
im going to have to go with Costco! there is soo much there!!.. and such a deal!! i love it!!
I like Safeway because at the end you give them your phone # and watch as your price drops hahaha! When you shop smart there, you can save SO much!
And Costco naturally, I work RIGHT by one so my lunches are usually devoted to Costco!
I go wherever I like, I don't stick to one place. I like reading my flyers for the best sales.
Trader Joe's all the way!
target and the local produce stand. I can't stand shopping at wal mart, so I'll pay a little extra and go to target for a better overall experience.
I wish we had a Wegman's here. I could spend hours in there really.
The best grocery thing we do is our investment into a CSA Share (Community Supported Agriculture). We invest in a share for harvested products from some of the few organic farms in our area (obviously not in California) and get great stuff once a week during the growing season.
I dearly love my local natural foods co-op, but Whole Foods got my vote. Love the selection of prepared foods - esp. the pizzas & salads!
I have not heard of hardly any of those stores either. What about Kroger or Meijer? They're the two big stores I see in Ohio and surrounding areas.
whole foods
Whole Foods - hands down.
I shop at Pathmark.. bleh lol
janellethechef- Central Market is the best by far! Anyone who thinks Whole Foods is amazing needs to come to Texas and check out Central Market. David Lebovitz even wrote about it.
kroger
Bristol Farms
delicious.
Whole Foods!
Central Market IS a great store. We loved going there when we lived in San Antonio.
I love Costco, but in New York my favorite stores are Fairway and West Side Market. And when I hit Long Island, Pathmark is always a pit stop.
Does no one have Bloom where they live? I love it!
OMG!! Thank you for adding Wegmans! I grew up with it and am now living Wegmans-less in Boston
Seriously, Wegmans is the first place I go when I'm visiting my parents. There is no better grocery store, end of story.
I love shopping at Publix.. I'm going to miss it when I move to DC next year.
Definately Whole Foods or Harry's (Same company, same thing) whenever I can, but Publix is right next to our home so sometimes I run there to save time.
Combination of many of the above, depending on items needed. My favorite would be the nearby Asian grocery, but they are lacking many things we regularly buy, so we need to go elsewhere for those things.
whole foods and trader joes!
I am obsessed with Whole Foods and Trader Joe's (although WFM got my vote). Seeing Wegmans on this list brought back memories of growing up – thanks Yum!
Have none of the Sugar staffers been to Central Market? You all need to Austin on a business trip and check it out. You can also compare to the Whole Food headquarters store. They are both on North Lamar. Whole Foods is between 5th and 6th streets and Central Market is at 40th. Here's the website for Central Market. http://www.centralmarket.com/cm/index.jsp
Wegmans, hands down. There's no place like it.
I'm a Stop'n'Shop girl, originally a Schnucks or Dierbergs girl.
Ahh Marci, Fairway is the BEST! I totally had forgotten about it. That was my mecca when I lived in NY. All those bins of olives...
Trader Joe's!
Wegmans is absolutely the best in the DC area, but I also love Whole foods and Trader Joe's prices can't be beat but their produce leaves much to be desired! How about adding H-Mart to the list? It's this awesome Korean grocery store I found that has about 30 types of ramen noodle soup, 50 types of gyoza, etc!
i shop at our local food co op but i wish we had a Whole Foods because I LOVE them and i also shop at safeway and costco
Wegmans is the best place ever. I'm moving soon and Wegmans will be the one thing I miss most. Can't you please open in MA.
I live in an awesome location for grocery stores. In less than 10 minutes I can be at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Giant Eagle Market District. The latter is 100,000 square feet and has everything under the sun, including a cooking demonstration area and walk-in cheese refrigerator.
Roots Market...its in Maryland...it is very similar to Whole Foods but they also have "Bark" which is for pets and a restaurant attached. They also sell every natural lotion under the sun!
Draegers for sure, but I love Trader Joes also.
I live in NYC - I couldn't go to a large chain if I wanted to! Occasionally I'll trek the 40 blocks to the Trader Joe's to stock up on wine and essentials for my husband, like Hummus, but... the 10 little stores within a 5 block radius of me are more than adequate!
I wish we had a whole foods! I usually go to Trader Joes, Vons and Target
Whole Foods, hands down!!!
I also really like Trader Joe's.
Whole Foods and Publix!
Love Whole Foods, wish I had a Central Market near me, but my favorite is Fresh Market; they have all-organic FABULOUS produce, fresh meats, a great cheese case, a whole section devoted to organic grains, nuts, granolas and trail mixes, a great wine section and amazing bakery. Oh man now I'm craving their pumpkin patch granola... dangit!
FAIRWAY! the best. love it.
Whole Foooooods! The one in Santa Monica is my dream market.
Deirbergs is the best here in St. Louis.
Publix is the best where I live in Florida. We have a Whole Foods about 45min away. That is where I will be going to pick up my leg of lamb for my Christmas Day meal.

oh glorious wegmans..... the day they finally opened one in my area was a fabulous day indeed. too bad it's like 40 minutes away! any time i visit my parents (who are only like 10 minutes from TWO wegmans!) i offer to pickup whatever ingredients we're missing, just to have an excuse to go to wegmans!
bigg's
sorry, but this is kind of a dumb question- there's way too many grocery stores out there. You have Costco, what about Sam's club?
