In Case You Didn't Know, Paris Is Rich

When you think of prosecco — Italian champagne — you may think light and bubbly. And when you think of Paris Hilton, you might also think light and bubbly. However, when you think prosecco do you think of Paris Hilton? Probably not. Well folks, that's soon going to change.

Page Six is reporting that Paris is headed to Berlin to promote the European launch of Rich, her new line of canned champagne. According to the folks at Rich, Paris is, "acting as a market ambassador in advertisements for the Rich pleasures."

The canned beverage reminds me of Sofia Coppola's canned Blanc de Blanc and I really wonder how it's going to taste. Canned wine is becoming more acceptable and I think the idea could be fun. The drink has yet to hit the US shores, but should be here sometime next year. I'm going to give it a spin — after all I love the bubbly! — how about you, are you going to try Rich?

187s are a huge trend because of their ease to transport (picnics, bridal parties getting ready, etc.) and marketability to a younger consumer. it could be interesting to see how this stuff does. the sofia coppola sparkling tastes like crap in my opinion so I would be into trying this stuff if it turns out to be decent.

Sofia's blanc de blanc is actually really good, and it's in such cute pink cans. I'll stick to that. I'm not supporting anything Paris endorses.

I just don't think I could stomach drinking anything with Paris Hilton in the Ad.

That ad is horrendous, paris looks like a giraffe, and the best part of drinking champagne is drinking it out of a pretty glass, the can is so trashy, just like paris, so really its perfect lol.

    Photographer to Parasite:

That’s it dear, hold the can now look up into the air as if you are saying “drink this, be rich” no, no, turn your wonky eye into the shadows, yes, yes, pucker those um, lips up, no, no, okay just look like you are sitting on the potty and your reaching for the TP..CLICK…perfect.

Champagne in a can just kind of loses it's luster for me. Half the fun is popping the cork!!

    Canned champagne?? Odd.

You lose the fun of popping the cork without the bottle!

I really want to hate this (yes, because of Paris) but I actually think it's kind of a good idea. It would be nice to be at a club or bar and order a can of champagne and not a whole bottle. Of course I would have to taste it first, but this isn't the stupidist thing Paris has ever done.

    I might try it.

It seems like the can would contain the carbonation really well. But there are also those mini bottles of champage at the store that are so much cuter...I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Oh gosh. How trashy. My mother always told me never to drink out of a bottle. "Drink out of the glass, you won't look like an ass" haha Smiling

Yeah that's gross ... and I think would change the taste/carbonation level of the champagne. Aren't the bottles and corks specially designed, like the glasses they are served in, to optimize the fizzy loveliness?

I am all for it -- popping the cork on a bottle of champagne makes me beyond nervous. Plus, this is just so portable!

I love, love the Sofia in cans. It is cute, tasty, and perfect when I want a glass but not a whole bottle! I do pour it into a glass, though - I think it tastes better that way.

So... maybe Paris' version will be good, too. Who knows. I'll try it.

I like the Sophia Coppola Blanc de Blanc much better already. I love the taste of the Coppola and the person making it is such a better role model.
