I was out looking for a champagne for New Year's Eve when I came across these two little bottles of Pommery Pop champagne. The bright blue and pink quarter-sized bottles caught my attention from the other side of the room. One glance at the bold P-O-P lettering and colorful bottles and I was sold. I didn't even bother to read the description or rating; I just grabbed one of each and proceeded to the counter. Yes, I am a complete sucker for packaging, but the fact that it was called Pop and I happen to work at the home of PopSugar sort of closed the deal.
The blue is a standard dry champagne, with a nice fruit flavor. It's a tiny bit sweeter than your average dry champagne but is wonderfully smooth. The pink is a sparkling rosé that has a fresh, bright taste. The blend of different Chardonnays and Pinot wines, along with a dash of red wine, gives it a pale pink color and slight red currant flavor. Neither of them are run-out-and-purchase-immediately sort of champagnes, but they are quite tasty and not just a product of marketing. They're really fun, wonderfully transportable, and will bring a little pop to your next party. Oh and did I mention that you could theoretically drink it out of a straw?!
You can find both versions of Pop in individual bottles ($11.99) or you can buy them in packs of four ($39.99).

Sweet. POP also introduced a 187 mL gold this fall. I think that one is $18 and I am dying to try it!
I haven't tried the rose, but I enjoy the regular blue bottle so far.
1Oh, I am so going to buy one of these for New Year's! Thanks, Yum!
2These came in handy last New Year's Eve, when we were on the strip in Vegas and still wanted a champagne toast!
3Yeah, I'm a sucker for packaging, too. Cute bottles!
4So cute and NOT in a can. ( I so hate champagne in a can so gross)
5I saw these at World Market and thought they were cute too! However, I couldn't bring myself to buy them given the 1/4 bottle is more than some very decent regular sized bottles. Maybe I'll splurge for New Year's.
6How perfect!!
7Wait, Yum was that you in BevMo today buying all that Pop Champagne? I was in the Champagne aisle looking at the tiny bottles and there was this woman next to me who was trying to reach the bottles of POP in the top shelf but she could reach them. So I stood on my tiptoes and grabbed as many as I could for her with my finger tips and then used my bottle of Limoncello to reach the rest for her. She seemed mighty happy as she ran to the BevMo register with her cute bottles of POP Champagne.
Being that I cannot drink alcohol, I think(if have to experiment at home), I only bought one. The blue one. But I they were kind of pricey for such a little amount.
I think I'll hit up my friend at eLuxury to raid the LVMH fridges for some free Moet Champagne for NYE. Free always tastes better.
8I got one of these blue bottles for my birthday and it was such a lovely treat!
9I wish I could just go grab a bottle of wine and buy it. It'd find it's way down the drain, though...
10Out of a straw...ha.
11I have a bottle of blue POP from last June. I found out I was pregnant in July so I haven't been able to drink it and I can't wait til I pop (no pun intended) this little one out so I can celebrate with POP!
12Those sound sooo good.
13We drink piccolos of Moet out of straws in Melbourne at fashion week. Have you guys only just got these in the States?
14I gave these to my bridesmaids as part of their gifts for being in my wedding. They're pretty good. I wouldn't buy them online though. You can get them at BevMo for $12.99 for the small bottle.
