I always joke that I love tea accessories way more than I like tea. I simply can't resist the cute cups and saucers, decorative boxes of teabags, and delicate infusers. But this Crate & Barrel Tea Bag Squeezer ($4.95) seems a bit much. It's a special tong-like gadget used to squeeze the remaining liquid from a tea bag — you know, like you usually do using a spoon and your hand. What do you think? Do you see yourself using this gadget?

I can actually see it replacing the spoon I use for my tea, because I can never seem to pick it up gracefully - especially when the teabag has that tag and I have to wrap the string neatly around the spoon and teabag to squeeze it ... blegh I am so bad at that!
I immediately thought of Samantha Jones for some reason.
I'm the same way when it comes to smoking accessories. Smoking is such a turn off but I adore cigarette cases. Go figure.
I find this device especially pointless when one uses loose-leaf tea--which is what I'd rather brewing in my teapots.
^...which is what I'd rather have brewing in my teapots.
Pointless. Isn't this why I have hands?
I gave one to somebody for christmas!!
I always use a spoon
easier!
I think I actually got this tool for my wedding shower last year, along with other tea accessories. I haven't used it yet!
I drink a lot of tea, but some of my favorite teas do not have the hanging tags on them and are just a bag, so this would be perfect for extracting them.
Perfect!
Hahah I like it!
I just got one since I registered for it and I LOVE IT!!!!
i think that it's really cute - don't know if i would use it but i like it
I never squeeze my tea bags. It just releases more tannic acid into your tea and makes it bitter.
Well... I can see how people would prefer a gadget like that, but I'm fine with a spoon.
This would work for teabags with no string. I'd keep it around for that reason and would probably use it.
I think this is awesome! About time it was invented. I normally use a spoon but for the teabags which don't have a string i end up getting my fingers all wet. this would eliminate the mess.
Unnecessary but would make a cute gift.
Oooh I am going to add this to my registry right now. The tea bags I use don't have the hang tag, and I always burn my fingers when I try to squeeze out the scalding hot tea bag. Brilliant!
I heard it was a no-no to squeeze out the extra liquid in teabags?? Eh, I prefer loose-leaf tea over bagged.
I really like it - I think it's neat and would def be more simple than using a spoon.. very unique
Pointless - I just use a spoon.
so unnecessary.
Verily has it right - if you're a tea-junkie like me, you know that you should never ever squeeze your tea bag into your tea cup because it makes the tea too bitter. Maybe if you don't want extra liquid in your garbage you could squeeze it into your sink?
Definitely wouldn't use it. For the most part, I drink loose leaf tea, so the tea bag squeezer is a moot point. But squeezing the tea bag makes the tea bitter, so even when I drink tea from a bag I wouldn't use it either.
I have had mine for years and use it everyday!!!
It's fantabulous...
Nice. I like it, but I'd never buy it for myself...
Squeezing your tea bag is a crime.
I never squeeze my tea bag. So, I won't be using this period.
Unitaskers are a big no no!
If I drank tea regularly I'd probably love it!
Well we have opposable thumbs...
I'm on the Alton Brown "No Single Use Kitchen Items" vein. Why use this? If you're desperate to squeeze your tea bag, use a slotted spoon and a regular spoon, or a pair of tongs.
using your hand is difficult because the tea bag is hot.
using a spoon is difficult because i bag loose tea leaves in bags without strings...in addition, the string usually rips the bag when i do it! i cant wait to get one of these. its only 5$, is it really a waste of money? not if you're a tea drinker
I use a tea infuser that you can use loose leaf tea or stringless bags with that has more uses than this
I like it...particularly if you're in mixed company and want to be nice and tidy
IMHO it is pointless. That's why God gave me fingers
LOVE IT
Hate it ON THE BASIS THAT Alton Brown points out in his tea episode of Good Eats that squeezing the teabag is a big no-no. However, if I were a squeezer (oh man that sounds gross) I would dig this. So, good utensil, bad idea.
