I'm anal retentive, so I always have a list with me, unless it's just a run for milk or something. Otherwise, I tend to forget or bypass things that I need.
I don't grocery shop often (right now I'm living in university residence, so my grocery requirements are minimal), but when I do I usually keep a list... I'll sort of write a running total of
all the things we need as the week goes on, and then I (or my mother) take that list to the store.
I always always shop with a list -- before we go I plan out how many nights we're home for dinner, plan out that number of dinners, and buy exactly what I need. My job is stressful and I work
way too many hours to come home at 8pm and have to fiddle around trying to think of what I want to cook. I have a list on the fridge of what the week's recipies are, I let my fiance pick
which one he wants that night, and I start cooking as soon as I get home. Someday I like to think that I'll be able to come home and see a pile of ingredients and decide what to make from
there, but truthfully with my chosen career path and subsequent 80 hour weeks, that probably won't happen until I retire.
I bring a list EVERY time I go to the store...for anything! If I don't, I forget at least one important item. I guess I'm a little forgetful.
Plus I like to plan ahead, so the list helps a lot.
I always shop at publix, and online they have this nifty thing where you can go and list what you want and they will break it down into the sections where the items are located, and you can
print it. its great.
I have a list that I print out with all of our staples and little checkboxes and then extra spaces to write other things. I keep it on my fridge and check off anything we run out of and write
out whatever meals I'm planning for the next week.
Where people have found other peoples grocery lists, and posted them, its interesting to see what people list, and guess what they are having for dinner.
You spend more money when you shop with a grocery list. It doesn't stop you from buying extraneous purchases and makes you less aware of what you are actually picking up.
Anyway, I just buy sale items, even if I don't "need" it that week - so a list is inefficient to me.
I almost always use a list...I'm fairly absent-minded and will usually forget the most important thing I came to the store for if I haven't written it down!
I have to have a list to stop me from buying unnecessary items. Heck, I even have my lists separated by if they are food or household items. I also found it helpful to get my grocery money in
cash so I don't overspend and overbuy which can easily happen since I do my shopping at Super Target.
I rarely use a list. I only make lists when I'm buying stuff for a party and I don't want to forget anything. Otherwise I just go to the grocery store and buy whatever I feel like buying that
day and also sometimes I'll take advantage of the sales. Anyway, I never buy a whole lot in advance, I prefer going to the grocery store many times a week. I end up wasting so much stuff if I
don't do that.
I'm really bad with grocery lists! Even if I remember to take one to the store with me, I still almost always end up forgetting to pick up something I wrote down.
I usually go aisle by aisle and see what I want or maybe need. But before I do any shopping I check what I need, if I forget to buy something ah well I'll buy it next time heheh =)
I keep a running list on my refrigerator, a habit I got from my Mom. The minute something is opened or used, it gets added to the list. That way we never run out of anything - or rarely,
anyway. From the time I could write, I was taught to do that. I buy off-list if I see something on sale or that looks interest, but the list keeps me from forgetting anything and makes
shopping quicker.
I'm a lister also, but I do every aisle every time I shop cause there's always something new or that I just want when I see it. My hubby shops with me and he likes the sale items. So a list
is a must and I must throw in all the extras. Love to grocery shop.
I MUST make a list if I go to Super Tar-jey (Super Target) or I will go in for aluminum foil, grapefruit and toothpaste and come out with a cart full of "WTF!?" On the other hand, the
farmer's markets are a list-free zone. Gotta go with what looks good!
I have to go with a list or I end up forgetting everything I went in for and getting a ton of stuff that I don't need. My friends always comment on my list and notice when I don't have one
and see the difference it makes for me.
my mom has always taught me to use a list and i just haven't caught on for the most part. there are times that i will take one with me but it really depends on my mood and all that
I always have to have a list, because I can't remember more than two or three things at a time. I write everything down in the order that I walk around the store, so I don't accidentally skip
over something and have to make a trip back for just one item.

I wish I were disciplined enough to shop with a list each AND every time...it gets kinda rough
1I always have a list because I try and plan ahead for my dinners.
2But I still go up and down every aisle quickly in case I forgot something

3Always have a list...

5I always have a list, though I do tend to pick up a few things that aren't on it every time I go

7always a list. i tend to buy extra things and spend too much money when i don't
8Always a list. My list is divided into groups also - dairy, produce, meat, etc.
9if i do make a list, i stray from it anyway. i'm not allowed to go grocery shopping alone because i'll wander around for ever.
10I bring a list EVERY time I go to the store...for anything! If I don't, I forget at least one important item. I guess I'm a little forgetful.

13Oh, and the staples are ordered in the order I will come across them in the store.
14I usually have a list but am in a hurry sometimes. When that happens I always end up forgetting something.
15There isa really neat website called
http://www.grocerylists.org/lists/100/
Where people have found other peoples grocery lists, and posted them, its interesting to see what people list, and guess what they are having for dinner.
16I usually make a list of 'must buys', but I go aisle to aisle to see if there is anything else I want.

18i usually go w/ a list...
sometimes i do shop off the top of my head...
and i usually just get some other things....sometimes to create another meal...sometimes just b/c it looks more fresh and sometimes just for fun!
19I'm a list maker, so I always have a list. The only thing I may buy not on my list is wine, beer, or liquor that is on sale.
20I almost always use a list...I'm fairly absent-minded and will usually forget the most important thing I came to the store for if I haven't written it down!

22I always take a list that I make from the supermarket sales ads and my coupons.
23I use a list sometimes...
24Sometimes I even forget what I need when I HAVE a list!
25I always use a shopping list. But then again, I make a meal plan and then I make the list, so I am fairly anal about things like this.
26With a list, because I'll forget what I need otherwise. I also write out the list in the order I'll pass it in the store.
27OMG, I'm a list fanatic! I make lists for everything!
I don't always STICK to my lists though...I tend to buy one or two new things each time I'm at the grocery store. I think it's fun to try new foods.
28I usually go listless lol but when I am trying out a new recipe or having a big gathering I usually make one so that I can remember to get everything.
29I rarely use a list. I only make lists when I'm buying stuff for a party and I don't want to forget anything. 30we need a list...
I love to get to home and say "!@#$@# i didn't buy coffe"
my boss... does that... always out of paper, coffe, sugar.. because she only goes, buys things and gets home and see what she got...
even with a list you forget things

34LIST, LIST LIST!!

36I always have a list so I know what I need, if I don't then I buy the stuff that I see while browsing.
37I MUST make a list if I go to Super Tar-jey (Super Target) or I will go in for aluminum foil, grapefruit and toothpaste and come out with a cart full of "WTF!?" On the other hand, the farmer's markets are a list-free zone. Gotta go with what looks good!

42With, otherwise I'll end up buying everything in the store
