Today is National Fig Newton Day, and I want to know what you think of the snackable cookies. As a child I really enjoyed them, but haven't had one in years. I might have to remedy that today, how about you?

Fig Newmans are healthier and wayyyyyy yummier.
About 1 month ago, I saw them at the market and bought myself a box of Newtons. I forgot how much I like them. It's a nice sweet treat, good for energy. I have totally refound my love for them!!
I'm not a fan.
I love 'em!
I love hem -- but I've never had or seen homemade ones. That sounds good.
They are really good, and now they have whole wheat ones with less sugar. Much healthier than cookies or ice cream.
I used to love them as a kid but now I would pass.
Fig Newmans are my favorite.
we dont have them here in the netherlands but are there figs in the cookie?!?!? doesnt sound good....
I love them! They are one of my favorite cookies. I usually buy Fig Newmans - which are great - even though I prefer the ol' Newtons.
Love Fig Newmans
the fruit kind i love....the actually fig ones i do not!!!
Raiyah, yes, they are just like shown on the boxes, a layer of fig, wrapped in a soft cookie.
I would eat them, but I don't look for them.
mmm i love them
I hate them!
not for me...
Haven't had any in months! Might have to pick up a package next time I go to the store.
I haven't had them in years but I love them. My older sister used to tell me they're made with crushed bugs..and I still ate them lol
I'm going to risk getting arrested for being a total nut case, but I love to dice Fig Newtons and put them in a bowl of softened vanilla ice cream. Adding to the crazy, I top this mess with a bit of raspberry preserves. NUMMY!
the fig and the apple are great
I love the fat free variety.
While I don't not like them, I rarely go out of my way to buy them. I avoid the processed food/cookie aisle at the grocery stores.
I LOVE the apple ones.
Yum yum! I love the Raspberry ones!
i've always been a little afraid of them - i don't know why. must be the fear of fig?
Haven't had them in years - I don't usually buy cookies - but I always thought the non-fig ones were pretty tasty. My mother LOVES the fig kind, but I've always found them gross.
I haven't had fig newtons in FOREVER! I used to like the raspberry-flavored fig newtons.
Totally forgot about these!! I am going to get myself a box today!
yum:
Named after my hometown of Newton, MA. Holla!
I always have them for a snack after I donate blood. The mini ones made with whole grains are my favorite.
Yum, love them!
i love love love fig newtons!
I love the kind you find at the health food store in flavors other than fig.
I never really thought that people didn't like them. They've always been a staple and are super yummy! I do only like the Fig ones though the Strawberry are too sweet.
Gee, they have their own day?? I'd better go out and buy some. I LOVE them fresh out of the package, but lose interest in them once the air hits them and they get a bit drier (dryer?).
Yum! The apple ones are so good! I love them all! Too bad they have such a high caloric content.
I LOVE fig newtons. I gobbled them up as a kid. Never had a fresh fig until I was in my 20s, sad but true.
Yeah I love em - grew up with em. Never know what the heck a fig was.
Now I found a healthier fig newton at WF market - no wheat, no fat, no sugar but tastes the same as the original.
Yuck, I don't them. I like actual figs, though.
No, I really don't care for them...
I haven't had one in years..but yes, w/ milk
Sometimes. I never think about them until I'm offered one. I eat it, like it, and wonder why...
I've had them before but I didn't like them.
Yum, love the raspberry ones the best!
yum!
I like Fig Newtons, but I'd rather have fresh figs. Or whole dried figs!
I love them! I might try to find a recipe for homemade ones and make them soon.
i like the fig newtons...
but i really miss the apple ones. they were my fav.
as a child i hated them all though.
LOVE THEM .. SO Yummy
