Our pals over at Grub Street are reporting that Rachael Ray might not be the perfect Dunkin' Donuts spokesperson. After all, shouldn't a spokesperson like the product she's hawking? In a second-hand story, Rachael is being quoted as calling Dunkin' Donuts coffee sh*t. She also refused to continue until someone brought her HER coffee, which happened to be Starbucks coffee.
I'm not sure if this is true, but it does sound rather diva-like. What do you think, would it surprise you if this was true? Perhaps she was just upset about the shake-ups at her magazine?
Also, would you agree with her? Do you like Dunkin' Donuts coffee?

My husband is psychotic for Dunkin Donuts coffee...
1Dunkin' Donuts coffee is just really really bad. It represents perfectly what the French think American coffee is like. On the other hand, they have really good products at Starbucks. Oh, btw, I would rather have a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee than a cup of Finnish coffee. It's probably the worst coffee in the world (And my boyfriend is Finnish. When we go to Finland we bring some starbucks coffee with us). Greek coffee is pretty bad too.
2Dunkin Donuts coffee is very mild. Starbucks coffee is very acidic and strong. It depends on what I'm in the mood for. I think most people like Starbucks coffee because it's "cool" to like it. Barnie's coffee is the best American coffee. Santa's White Christmas is tdf. The best coffee I ever had was in Amsterdam! Good stuff! Sometimes I crave it.
31st--I can believe this of rachael Ray. I don't know how much of a diva she is, but she gets on my nerves.
As to Dunkin Donuts coffee, it's okay.
My Take on Starbucks is that is represents the worst of all coffee worlds.
If someone is a real coffee snob then they hang at the local coffee house where beansare roasted on , all sorts of funky specialized coffee and tea knowledge and products are available--and it might even provide a venue for local artists.
If you don't care much about the process of coffee making or variety in your coffee drinking then why pay Starbucks prices?
I imagaine that Starbucks started out as a great local Seattle coffee shop, but now it just a self-satisfied status chain.
If you are going to patronize a chain coffee shop save you $ and do the Dunkin'. Or even better, if you live in New England drink McDonald's. Up here McD's sells Newman's Own Organics fair trade coffee. It's not half bad.
Sorry for the rant, but Starbucks!#@
4I prefer Starbucks because I love really strong-tasting coffee...I DO like Dunks too though. It's not bad.
Rachael Ray's Dunks commercials DRIVE ME NUTS. Her voice goes right through me and I hate when she says "delish"! Ugh.
5Dunkin Donuts coffee is okay. But from where I'm from, it's only good in the morning, because for the rest of the day the coffee just sits there and gets bitter. I like starbucks, but only for their Caramel Macchiato and frappachinos. For the freshest coffee, I go to WaWa. It's never bitter (at least not in my experience).
6BTW, I'm not sure if I believe that Rachael Ray is a diva. But part of me wouldn't be surprised.
7I love DD donuts blueberry coffee. Mmm. But I despise Rachel Ray's commercials. So annoying!! "Delish" Grrr...
8I'm getting oversaturated with RR, but I doubt if she really did this. If nothing else, she's far too smart to alienate an employer in public, as I'm sure she's raking in money from Dunkin' hand over fist.
9I can picture her saying that...and yes, Dunkin Donuts coffee IS s**t. But then again, I like it better than a Starbucks. Starbucks is wayyy to strong for me. Wow- I sound so picky!
10I always thought RR was cool and un-divalike. Hmmm, I hope she's not like that, everyone thinks she's really annoying but I think she's cool & has great recipes. If she's a diva then that would suck, I would so boycott.
11I don't drink coffee, but i have a really hard time believing that about Rachael.
12I think Dunkin Donuts coffee is pretty good, actually. But their espresso drinks are absolutely wretched... I still rely on Starbucks for those.
13I will say that I am very snobbish about my coffee. I only brew Kill Devil coffee (micro-roasted coffee from the Front Porch Cafe in the Outer Banks of NC)at home. If I'm out I will occationally puchase coffee from a local cafe that serves Illy (but thats it, I don't waist my money on crappy coffee). Having said that I would never refuse to work without it. If the coffee I like is unavailable I just go without coffee. It's nothing to throw a fit over.
14"After all, shouldn't a spokesperson like the product she's hawking."
hahhahhahahhaha, thanks for the laugh.
15amen anniekim!!!!
i go for dunkin over starbucks any day...i dont like starbucks coffee or their own secret coffee language....
16Back off my girl!
17i have to go with Starbucks or the local smaller shop in my town (we have one Starbucks, one local shop, and two D&Ds)
18I do like DD coffee, but have discovered a dairy allergy, and they don't offer soy milk as an option.
But I can't always afford Starbucks pricing (my coffee choice there is $2.79! i cant do that per day!), so I usually stick with my little Icy Bean coffee shop when I'm craving some joe. Plus all their coffee is organic!!! DD can't do that!
she's Definitely becoming a diva - has been since she was on Oprah. i think that the attention got to her head - and now i can't stand her. granted i didn't care for her before her own talk show
as for liking DD - i like the coffee - but that's about it - not the hot cocoa or whatever else they have
19I love the DD coconut iced coffe yum! Its like a milkshake. Starbucks is OK for the stronger stuff...but I prefer to grind and brew espresso at home, yummy. I like my coffee black and strong, usually
20I can't stand ANY coffee....and I work at Dunkin! So I definitely don't think that I'd care for Starbucks, seeing as they're supposedly stronger...
21As for Rachael Ray, I can not stand the woman...she has ALWAYS irritated me...she's such a media wh*re....I especially despise her now that I have to see her face staring at me larger than life at work everyday!
Diva!
22I can't decide. Dunkin Doughnuts coffee or Rachel Ray: Both leave me with an unpleasant aftertaste.
23i prefer dunkin to starbucks but would rather not drink either, they are last resorts....
24Starbucks coffee tastes burnt and bitter. I think it's pretty gross. If I brew it at home, it's tastes fine but in the stores it's just terrible. I don't know how anyone can drink it. However, I love Starbucks holiday drinks--soy gingerbread latte? yes, please. DD coffee is only good with milk & sugar. I wouldn't make it my go-to everyday coffee b/c I like my coffee black in the mornings, but DD is good, say, on a road trip or shopping on Saturday afternoon.
25Considering all I've heard about RR's diva-like attitude, this doesn't surprise me one bit.
26i don't drink coffee. it makes me too jittery AND leaves a really disgusting taste in my mouth.
27I don't like coffee at all, so I can't actually say anything about which is best, but does it really matter? If she wants a different coffee than the one that wants to advertise with her face, who cares? It's not diva-like at all to be sick of having to try to sell stuff to the public when you don't even like it.
28it sounds like her, i hear stories all the time about her hissy fits, whining and her run on mouth (anyone remember the comments she made in oprahs office about slavery?)
Starbucks is nasty, as is dunkin donuts. I prefer my coffee with chicory, cafe du monde style.
29dunkin is a way better coffee than starbucks, not to mention way cheaper!
30I like Folgers in a travel cup or 7-11 coffee because its only $1
They raised the prices at my dunkin donuts so a medium regular coffee is $2.50. And Starbucks is about the same... and they dont even put the milk and sugar in for you- tell me again why a cup of hot water is 2.50?????
31I don't drink coffee unless its free. But Rachel Ray has the most annoying voice I've ever heard. My husband loves her. He likes Giada a lot better though. Wonder why...
32RR was barely tolerable when she was on Food Network once a day. Now that she's on 100 times, I want to shoot her. If I hear "EVOO...that's extra virgin olive oil" one more time! I mean just say evoo or extra virgin olive oil, not the whole f*cking thing every time....WE GET IT!!! And I hate her voice.........
33So many things wrong with RR I don't know where to begin. She's the most annoying @ss currently on tv. DD coffee is great for a cup on the go. And Starbucks is straight up garbage, they over brew it, and make it entirely too strong. BTW: Greek coffee is wonderful if made right, maybe you had a bad cup.
34Oh that's not true. She's not that type of person that would demand someone to bring her coffee before she did anything. Give me a break. And I'm sure she didn't call DD coffee sh*t.
However, if she did prefer Starbucks over DD coffee, she'd be 100% right! DD coffee sucks and no one beats Starbucks. It's just good coffee, dangit.
35Real coffee lovers like strong coffee. The other stuff is just hot brown water with added caffeine. Yuck.
36I haven't seen her commercials, since we don't have Dunkin Donuts on the west coast.
Starbucks plain coffee isn't particularly good either, unless you order an espresso drink of some kind, so I'm suprised that she would be such a brat about it.
Rachel Ray is beyond obnoxious.
37My industry sources tell me this is very true of her during the shoot!
38Starbucks coffee is too bitter for me. As far as regular coffee goes, I'd much prefer to drink Dunkin Donuts. My favorite, though, are the tiny drive-thru espresso places they've got all over the Seattle area. They're infinitely better than any of the chain places...
39Ugh I really dislike Rachael Ray now. I'm completely opposite...I HATE Starbucks coffee and love, love, love me some Dunkin. So much in fact that since I moved to the west coast, a.k.a a Dunkin-less zone, I bring it back in my suitcase when I'm visiting and order it off the internet when I run out. Dunkin Donuts and Wawa coffee are some of the tastiest east coast creations
40"If she wants a different coffee than the one that wants to advertise with her face, who cares?"
I would imagine that since she was supposedly on set filming the DUNKIN DONUTS commercial, she probably should have kept her overpaid trap shut.
41Alright, where are all the New Englanders? I know you guys love your Dunkin Donuts coffee! When I'm on the go, I prefer DD to Starbucks coffee; however I do love the Sugar Free Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte at Starbucks!
42Sounds like someone is getting a little too big for her spatula!
I LOVE Dunkies! I about soiled myself when I saw the bags of beans in the local grocery, as we don't have DDs around here! I use a little more per cup than the bag suggests. Starbucks is just to strong and bitter for my liking.
43I don't like DD or Starbucks. Peet's for me!
44Sounds like when Britney Spears was selling Pepsi, but had Coke brought to the commercial set. Or when a star sells hair dye, you know they only have to have one strand treated to say they "use" it.
I like Starbucks alot. Its not my favorite, but I don't mind paying through the nose occasionally as they treat their employees very well. Healthcare and dental for all, even part-timers, and that is extremely hard to find these days.
45Love Dunkin Donuts coffee (especially if you make it 1/4 hot chocolate), but go to Starbucks for lattes and tea. Kinda sick, but we actually have 8 DD's in my town (counts all the small gas station ones). I guess New Englanders can't get enough of the DD!
46I'm not a fan of RR. Her yum-o and olio type stuff gets on my nerves.
47evoo sorry
48That would be messed up if she's drinking Starbucks but getting paid big money from Dunkin Donuts..
Starbucks sucks. I don't drink coffee but I never support them. They are so expensive and their drinks have more calories and fat in them then some meals! Let's get healthy America...
49Oh yeah, and thankfully where I come from..there are a whole lot more Dunkin Donuts than Starbucks! And since I don't drink coffee, if I ever a drink at a coffeeplace....I can tell you this... Dunkin Donuts hot chocolate >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Starbucks hot chocolate! Ask for a flavor shot of french vanilla with your DD hot chocolate--it's DELICIOUS!
