The blogger behind Dish a Day actually chased down a mobile snack shack in order to get this grasshopper snack. And according the folks at Treehugger.com, only 20 percent of the folks on the planet don't eat insects. Having said that, I want to know: Would you eat these grasshoppers? Being part of the I'll try anything once club — not to mention I've already tried a scorpion — I think I'd have to say yes. How about you?

No. Freaking. Way.
I can't even look at that picture, let alone consume anything in the picture... Ugh! Never! Ever! No Way! You would have to pay me a butt load of money and even then I would have to strongly consider it!
Will I go out in my backyard and chomp down on one? No. If I'm on vacation in a foreign country, and that is the local snack? Absolutely! I might hate it, but I at least tried it.
Although I have to say, I have yet to be presented with the opportunity to eat bugs
But I did eat fish eyeballs once when a co-worker from Cambodia had them in this stew he had for lunch. And you know...they weren't bad.
ugh- that's revolting !!!!
I have tried them, they are not that bad.
On a side note; the US and "Western" Europe are the two areas of the world that don't eat bugs... every other place does.
I tried grasshopper tacos once: they were too salty and crunchy for my taste, but some of my friends loved them!
No thank you. Call me uncultured or whatever, but bugs... I just can't do it.
Sorry Yum but the photo above isn't very appetizing. I might try one if it was mixed in batter, rolled into a ball and fried like a conch fritter.
There is absolutely no way I would even go close to that pile of dead bugs! I hate bugs!!!
if somebody paid me...
I have tried grasshopper. It's not that bad, but I won't be eating them regularly.
I'd eat them if they didn't look like grasshoppers. Take off the heads, wings and legs and saute them they might not be bad; but to eat bugs is just strange to me, although I do love escargot. Go figure.
Never in a million years...
No way.
No way in hell. That picture was enough to make me gag.
Considering grasshoppers probably don't ingest all the hormones chickens and cows do and the poo that pigs do, i'd try then once!
Well, I eat snails, fish eggs and raw fish, so why not? When you take away the fancy names for sushi, escargot and caviar, they're pretty gross sounding themselves.
I see more potential with using these as part of a practical joke than for actually snacking on....
I'll swallow the occasional gnat that drowns in my wine glass...but that's about it.
eewwwwwwwwwwwwww!
I would try them. Why not?
They're not too bad. Crunchy, if I remember right (it's been awhile), it just looks kind of...creepy
I don't do bugs...Period.
Gross!!!!!
Disgusting. Cruel. There's a reason I'm a vegetarian.
I'll try anything...especially if I'm travelling. I think the best way to experience a different culture is through its food.
i would have to say 'NO' to that one
No way jose !!!
yuck.
only if I were a contestant on Survivor and even then I would only do it for the money.
I would totally eat these. Americans have no idea how many bugs they eat on a daily basis, if you read the FDA Defect action level handbook, which gives the amount of "extra" bits aloud in our foods you will see terms such as
Rodent Filth, Insect Fragments, Mold, Rodent Hairs, beetle eggs or sacs, mammalian excreta , rot, maggots......
mmmm yummy
Never...
We ate grasshoppers in high school biology... They taste like bacon.
i'm somewhere inside that 20% number
they looked gross in the picture but I would try them if they were mixed with a normal food
Sure, why not. They're high in protein and chock full of vitamins... Plus they're supposed to taste like bacon... mmmmmm.... bacon covered grasshopper bits... mmmm bacon covered bacon bits....*drool*
