Earlier I mentioned how much I like it when sweet things are a little bit salty, and it got me wondering if I was alone. I know some of my friends enjoy salty sweets, while others think it's repulsive. How about you, what's your opinion of the salty sweet?

Can you say Nut Roll? Salty peanuts and a sweet center; ahhh, it doesn't get better than that.
1chocolate covered pretzels are the BEST!
2I agree with both of these comments. Salty/sweet is a definite YUM!
3Those Ritz cookies in the earlier post look absolutely delicious.
I make a Christmas treat called Pretzel Turtles. Melt a Hersey kiss on top of a square-shaped pretzel in the oven for a few minutes until the kiss starts to melt. It's the perfect combo of sweet & salty.
4omg
5sweet and salty is my FAV!
Chocolate covered pretzels are what I thought of when I read this! Yum indeed!
6Definitely - it just depends on what kind of sweet it is.
There are these great
butter toffee peanuts that I buy and damn are they every good.
7It's the perfect match!
8Salty and sweet!
Certain days I do enjoy salty sweet things.
9They're good now and then.
10A company in Oklahoma called Bedre' makes 'High Dollar Chips.' They are chocolate covered potato chips. Faaaaantastic!
11Nope, I go for either one or the other-I can't say I've had an combo of the two I've loved.
12Give me salty and sweet!
13yummm getting hungry thinking about all of the yummy sweet/salty treats!
14Ciao- I do those too except that I replace the Hershey Kiss with a Rolo (or however you spell those damn things), and then put a walnut or almond on top!
15Oh my try some Chocolate Covered Popcorn by Peterbrooke's Chocolatier and you'll shed tears over how amazing it is. Perfect blend of sweet, savory chocolate with salty (and buttery!) popcorn. People always swear how unappealing it sounds and then I buy them a bag and have not once got a turn down. But it MUST be Peterbrookes:)
16Perfect mouthful of a snack: one mini pretzel + two m&m's.
Please, someone tell me how to find info on the other cookie in the picture--the leaf-shaped one that looks like pistachio shortbread.
17cant go wrong with chocolate covered pretzels or almond m&m's
18my mom makes white chocolate pretzels every christmas!! and my boyfriend got me some choxie chocolates this year....the sea salt caramel was AMAZING.
and for a non-chocolate treat, my favorite thing is mixing a bag of microwave kettle corn and a bag of the super buttery king....delish!!
19Salty sweets are my fave, whether it's chocolate-covered pretzels and other desserts or sweet-salty dinner entrees. Or salted caramel ice cream from Bi Rite! Mmmm....
20Berlin.....we got a big ass tub of the Peterbrooke's Chocolatier popcorn at my job..was unbelievable!
My favorite salty/sweet treat is chocolate covered pretzels though
21Wow - those pistachio-esque looking chocolate goodies look fabulous! What are they and where can I get them??
22Love it!
23The absolute best salty/sweet thing in the history of the world is Vosges 'Exotic Goji Berry' chocolate bar. I got mine at Zingermans deli and really need to stock up!!
24I love salty sweet - I have two suggestions for other salty sweet lovers out there:
251. Potato Chip Cookies from Immaculate Baking Company and
2. Sea Salt Brownies from Trader Joe's - they are to die for
nope. don't like the combo.
26I like the salty/sweet, but if you could find how to make those pistachio cookies from the picture...
27YUM!
it's a delicious combo!
i love!
28For most things, the combination is fabulous, though I must draw the line at putting salt on fruit
29i think that i used to enjoy them a lot more than i do now. sometimes i'm into them and sometimes i can very easily pass.
30I'm not really a big sweet fan, but salty sweets? DELISH. Sea salt caramels are to die for. And I only had chocolate covered potato chips once, but I thought they were amazing.
31Pretzel sticks coated with peanut butter and Nutella! *fainting*
32I dont really like salt. but when i need it choc covered pretzels are the way to go.
33sure do!
