Do You Enjoy Salty Sweets?

Earlier I mentioned how much I like it when sweet things are a little bit salty, and it got me wondering if I was alone. I know some of my friends enjoy salty sweets, while others think it's repulsive. How about you, what's your opinion of the salty sweet?

Can you say Nut Roll? Salty peanuts and a sweet center; ahhh, it doesn't get better than that.

I agree with both of these comments. Salty/sweet is a definite YUM!
Those Ritz cookies in the earlier post look absolutely delicious.

I make a Christmas treat called Pretzel Turtles. Melt a Hersey kiss on top of a square-shaped pretzel in the oven for a few minutes until the kiss starts to melt. It's the perfect combo of sweet & salty. Smiling

Ciao- I do those too except that I replace the Hershey Kiss with a Rolo (or however you spell those damn things), and then put a walnut or almond on top!

Oh my try some Chocolate Covered Popcorn by Peterbrooke's Chocolatier and you'll shed tears over how amazing it is. Perfect blend of sweet, savory chocolate with salty (and buttery!) popcorn. People always swear how unappealing it sounds and then I buy them a bag and have not once got a turn down. But it MUST be Peterbrookes:)

Perfect mouthful of a snack: one mini pretzel + two m&m's.

Please, someone tell me how to find info on the other cookie in the picture--the leaf-shaped one that looks like pistachio shortbread.

my mom makes white chocolate pretzels every christmas!! and my boyfriend got me some choxie chocolates this year....the sea salt caramel was AMAZING.

and for a non-chocolate treat, my favorite thing is mixing a bag of microwave kettle corn and a bag of the super buttery king....delish!!

Salty sweets are my fave, whether it's chocolate-covered pretzels and other desserts or sweet-salty dinner entrees. Or salted caramel ice cream from Bi Rite! Mmmm....

The absolute best salty/sweet thing in the history of the world is Vosges 'Exotic Goji Berry' chocolate bar. I got mine at Zingermans deli and really need to stock up!!

I love salty sweet - I have two suggestions for other salty sweet lovers out there:
    1. Potato Chip Cookies from Immaculate Baking Company and
    2. Sea Salt Brownies from Trader Joe's - they are to die for

I'm not really a big sweet fan, but salty sweets? DELISH. Sea salt caramels are to die for. And I only had chocolate covered potato chips once, but I thought they were amazing.
