Those of you who love Girl Scout Cookies will be happy to know that many of your local Girl Scout troops are taking pre-orders now. The cookies are traditionally sold in early March, but for those of you that can't wait, I spied the seasonal Dryer's/Edy's Girl Scout cookie ice creams at my local Safeway. For a few months only, the ice cream giant produces three flavors of ice cream infused with Girl Scout cookies. My personal favorite is the Samoas, which is Samoas cookies in Caramel Ice Cream with Fudge. However there's also Thin Mint — Thin Mint Cookies in Chocolate Mint Ice Cream — and Tagalongs — Peanut Butter Patties combined with vanilla ice cream and swirls of peanut butter and fudge.
Actually now that I've listed them out, I can't decide! How about you, which flavor do you want to try, and do you think they'll curb your Girl Scout Cookie cravings?

i think that edy's has done this in the past because i remember having thin mint ice cream - but i'm excited for it. if they have the peanut butter one - then i'm sold!
1I love Samoas so that might be my first choice. Then Tagalongs. Then the Thin Mint ice cream. OH JOY! This is really good news!

I'll try the mint and PB, but not the Samoas. Not a coconut fan.

Also, I just saw all three on display at my Safeway on Monday night. I didn't have my camera with me, but I do have some of the Samoas in my freezer right now!

20Thanks Yum Sugar--But I think what it was is that the LIGHT version of thin mint and samosa are Sept-Dec, but the GRAND (The full fat--yum!) version is Jan-April. I guess I just naturally looked for the light version!
21Damn. I would want the light version. They sound delicious though. Samoas for sure and then Tagalongs. Never been a fan of mint in cookie form or ice cream. Yuck.

23I actually just got some of the Samoas ice cream the other day! They were selling them at Walmart. I think we ate it all up already, haha. I think they release this ice cream every year.
The girl scouts in my town have already been selling cookies though! I kicked myself for buying the ice cream because I didn't know that they started selling cookies the next day. Are they not supposed to be?

25Wow, that Samoas ice cream sounds really really good. I already have thins mints chilling in the freezer...maybe I'll crush a few and mix them up with the Mayan Chocolate ice cream I already have.

28They've had these for years, but it's always been seasonal. I remember having them when I lived at home, so it's been at least 7-8 years. The Thin Mint kind is sooooo yummy!
29I love both Thin Mints and Samoas, though I'm not a huge fan of Tag-a-Longs. Weird because I love peanut butter.

33I don't know where you live, but Girl Scouts always sell cookies in January. Always. And they have this stuff all year round here. I've never seen the Samoas kind though.

37Actually, Naturalla, I just happened upon a nice big display of the thin mint cookie ice cream at the supermarket- and it's April. What's more, they were having a buy one get one free sale.
38I will try all three flavors. I don't like coconut, but i like the samoa cookies...go figure.
