Today I was meeting a friend for lunch when I realized I didn't have any cash. So I popped into the nearby drugstore to use my ATM card for some cash back. When I usually do this, I end up with a pack of gum, but today something made me grab a pack of Red Vines instead.
I brought them back to the office where we ended up debating the flavor and texture of a Red Vine (thicker, slightly cherry flavored and waxy, like chewy licorice) versus a Twizzler (normally strawberry or cherry flavored and plasticky, like little vinyl shoelaces all twisted together). Now I love almost all candy, so I can appreciate both, however, if I have my choice, it's Red Vines all the way. Not only do I prefer the flavor and texture, but you can use it as a straw and besides, we all know that it's Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious not Mr. Pibb + Twizzlers...
So, how about you, Red Vines or Twizzlers? Which do you prefer?

I think Red Vines taste like chalk! And you can use a Twizzler as a straw, too -- you just have to drink faster so it doesn't get gooey.
1I have used my Red Vines as a straw before. I LOVE Red Vines, Twizzlers are icky.
ALSO, the Mr. Pibb + Red Vines = Crazy Delicious has me
every time!!!
2yuck, i hate them both! give me sour straws instead, i'll drink my soda out of those! they still work.
3Twizzlers can be used as straws too!
4I LURVE Twizzlers and Cream Soda.....MMMMMM.
Now here's a topic I can warm to. Twizzlers good. Red Vines bad. End of story.
5I love Red Vines much better than Twizzlers. There is a Red Vines factory not far from where I live. I used to work for a dentist several years ago and one of the patients worked at the factory and every time he would come in he would bring a freshly made bag of Red Vines...yummy. So I am a very big fan. Twizzlers are an okay substitute.

I love that the guy brought Red Vines to the DENTIST'S office.
I think it depends on where you grow up. I never had Red Vines until I visited California. By then my Twizzlers tastebuds were well formed.
7This is a raging debate in my home, and I think at least partially it's a coastal difference (east=Twizzlers, west=red vines). But seriously, this has been the source of many a spirited conversation with my man. I'm a Twizzler's girl, but that doesn't mean I don't eat all the red vines when they're around.
8Hey I like both! I don't have a preference either way, though I DO like redvines more, like molly, I'll snack on twizzlers if they're offered to me.
9dont like any of them, they dont have a taste to me, dunno. I no likey
10Okay I grew up on twizzlers! BUT, I LOVE redvines much more! Twizzlers are just to mushy and gross. Ever since I had my first Redvine I won't eat a twizzler again! And yes, you can drink out of both, just for all of you fighting ^ up there! haha!
11Twizzlers for sure (but I am an east coast girl)... and we grew up drinking diet cherry 7-up with twizzlers as straws!
12Gotta go for the Twizzlers.
13You can use twizzlers as straws...i used to do it all the time at the movies. twizzlers plus mt. dew or coke equals yum.
I'm all in.
14I love twizzlers ! its so sad I can eat a huge bag by myself they are so addicting . I always get them at the movies. I like red vines too but in connecticut I usually dont find them as much.
15Red Vines all the way. It's totally an East Coast/West Coast split
16I hate hate hate Twizzlers. Hate 'em.
17I can hang with Twizzlers in a pinch. But I'm Red Vines/ACTUAL licorice all the way.
18Twizzlers! Never even heard of Red Vines in NC.
19I've lived in the midwest and the southeast, never heard of red vines!
20I LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEE twizzlers
21TINA!
