The Super Bowl is quickly approaching, and I'm sure quite a few of you are planning parties and stocking up on football food. While just about every state chows down on the stuff, the folks at Wal-Mart wondered which states consume the most "football food." So they looked at the number of purchases and came up with the following discoveries. It's sort of interesting to see which states top the snackfood list. What do you think? Do you agree with these findings, or do you think your state should (or shouldn't) have been there?
- Most Chicken Wings: Utah and Louisiana
- Most Frozen Pizza: Nebraska and South Dakota
- Most Potato Chips: New Mexico and Virginia
- Most Dips: Kentucky and Louisiana
- Most Snack Mixes: South Dakota and Indiana
- Most Mixed Nuts: North and South Dakota

I can't believe Texas didn't make the list! We're both overweight and football obsessed...
1Louisiana baby, we won two categories! Although, ultimately I'd rather something more seafood related (like boiled crawfish on SUNDAY!) than chicken wings...
2I believe the frozen pizza for Nebraska and South Dakota there aren't many people or places around to be delivering pizza unless they wanna wait 2 hours
3Go IN!
Texas probably would win on tortilla chips and guacamole, or queso with Rotel (seriously, I had my mom mail me cans of Rotel when I used to live out of state before my Super Bowl party every year)
4Most dips: Kentucky and Louisiana! LMAO!!!
5the folks at wal-mart clearly have never experienced a texas superbowl party!
6I was surprised Texas wasn't on any of those lists, too. But South Dakota is really into its party foods, isn't it. It's on 3 of those!
7My KY mom makes the best dip.
8I can't believe Texas isn't on there either...or any of the other biggest states. I find it hard to believe that a state like California with over 35 million people doesn't buy more potato chips than North Dakota, with less than a million.
9Nothing for New England...
10Kentucky -- Dips! Haha!! That's probably why there's so many fat people here. I don't claim to live in Kentucky. I live in Louisville, which is awesome, and that's pretty much the only place I go in this state.
11This is interesting to see!
My favorite foods to eat while watching the big game are hero subs and chips/dip.
12Egregious and classist, Greentea.
13If they had looked at Velveeta and Rotel consumption, Texas would probably win it.
14I guess Walmarts aren't as big in California (more Targets in my area) so we probably didn't make the list.
Salsa, quac and chips always seem to be the most popular at Superbowl parties here and lots of grilling because the weather is usually decent.
15SERIOUSLY??? NO TEXAS??? I believe this is faulty information...haha we do it BIG in Texas.
16You're totally right, magita! I was going to say the same thing, it's all about the queso with rotel and chips in Texas.
17I wonder where Connecticut came in? Oh well, my favorite food to eat during the SuperBowl is any type of plain Wavy/rippled chips w/ hummus or sour cream & onion dip; tomato sandwiches; deviled eggs; and ben & jerry's ice cream if my team wins, a bowl of ceral if my team loses.
18texas baby!
