We haven't seen such an Internet explosion since Marshmallow Crispy Oreos came out. When news broke that Ben & Jerry's had released Core Ice Creams ($4 each), we couldn't wait to get our hands on the four new pints: Hazed & Confused, Peanut Butter Fudge, Salted Caramel, and That's My Jam. Our dedicated taste testers ate ice cream for breakfast so that we could bring you inside the pints to share which ones are worth purchasing.
That's My Jam
Please meet the most controversial of the pints, which contains chocolate and raspberry ice creams with fudge chips and a raspberry core.
Impressions: That's My Jam
Never in taste test history has a group been so divided. Half the group gave the pint a perfect five, and half, a loathsome one. Tasters felt surprised by the extremely obvious raspberry jam flavor. But many announced fruit in ice cream ain't their thang, and they struggled with the fruitiness.
Some wanted more raspberry core, and others wanted to forgo it. A taster who gave the pint a one-star review compared it to "Smuckers with ice cream" and added, "No way." Another who prized the pint with "5++" stars said, "I could eat this morning, noon, and night! So good!"

Hazed & Confused Core
Inside this pint are chocolate and hazelnut ice creams with fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge core.
Impressions: Hazed & Confused Core
Fans of the ice cream raved over the combo, claiming the chocolate hazelnut, though light in flavor, tasted simple yet classic.
As you can see from the picture, the fudgy core of the ice cream appears hidden. "What's the advantage of the core? It would have been better swirled!" one taste tester proclaimed. Once it was found, testers struggled to scoop it out, as it was frozen solid compared to the ice cream. Others complained of the lack of hazelnuts and nutty flavor. This taster summed it up: "Good but nothing groundbreaking."

Peanut Butter Fudge Core
Next up, we have chocolate and peanut butter ice creams with mini peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core.
Impressions: Peanut Butter Fudge Core
Those who can't get enough peanut butter will appreciate that this pint truly tastes peanut buttery. Tasters marveled at the heavy hand of peanut butter cups swirled throughout, likening them to "Reese's but better." This "hard to beat" flavor inspired commenters to take things to a spiritual level. "Basically, heaven in a pint," one said. "My mouth and soul screamed with joy!" another exclaimed.
Once again the fudgy core was difficult to scoop, and those who really aren't into peanut butter will obviously find this one hard to swallow.

Salted Caramel Core
Get ready for this: sweet cream ice cream with "blonde brownies" and a salted caramel core.
Impressions: Salted Caramel Core
The salted caramel core received a lot of love from tasters who gushed over the sweet-salty flavor and giant depot of caramel in the center. "Yes! So much yes!" was all one could muster. The bits of blonde brownie and salty caramel complemented the sweet cream ice cream, and none of the flavors overpowered each other.
The few who didn't go for this ice cream suggested a need for more caramel sauce or that the core would have been better swirled. Also, some found it too sweet, and another uttered, "It was decent but not exciting."

Would You Buy Ben & Jerry's Core Ice Creams?
Ultimately, most felt like the sauces are better swirled into the ice creams for even distribution. The frozen core made it difficult and frustrating to scoop. Now that you've heard it from us, what do you think? Are you still interested in purchasing these core ice creams?
