Mouthwateringly tart, and perfectly bittersweet, Gary & Kit's Meyer Lemon Marmalade ($10) may very well be the best marmalade I've ever tasted, my beloved earl grey kumquat marmalade included. Not only exceptionally flavorful, but texturally spot-on thanks to the abundant, tender slivers of lemon rind suspended throughout the spread, this glistening preserve is a must-try for anyone with a penchant for sweet-tart treats.

This small batch of artisanal marmalade lives up to what we've come to expect from Gary & Kit's (we're also fans of the brand's dukkah, an Egyptian spice, nut and seed blend). Even marmalade skeptics — including some of our tasting panel — agree: this is one spread to stock for spreading onto morning toast, swirling into plain yogurt, slathering on gingersnaps, or even eating straight off the spoon (we won't tell!).
