Bocconcini, pronounced boh-kohn-CHEE-nee
Not to be confused with broccoli, bocconcini are small (about 1 inch in diameter) nuggets of fresh mozzarella cheese. They are sold in whey or water.

Literally translated, bocconcini means "small mouthful." In Italy the word can refer to a dish that is a mouthful.

I love bocs! my favourite salad is the caprese salad which is slices of bocconcini, basil leaves and slices of tomato arranged on a plate and drizzled with olive oil. Tuscanstellina's suggestion, breaded and fried sounds so good! Man, I'm starving after reading this article, haha!

My go-to summer sald is bocconcini, grape tomatoes, chick peas & a very good vinaigrette marinated overnight. So good!

I like to use them in an Italian pasta salad with penne and grape tomatoes. It makes for a yummy lunch.

they have those at Whole Foods in the salad bar type thing and i used to love to get them with tomatoes and make my own budget caprese salad :)
