When I first saw this chalkcloth runner ($24-38) in the latest NapaStyle catalog, I immediately wanted one. I made the mistake of thinking it was actual chalkboard and was disappointed when, upon further examination, I realized it was just cloth. Still, it's perfect for a cheese display or chili cook-off and would make a great gift for the hostess who has everything. What do you think?

2Kinda neat for the Holiday's when you've got a large food spread that belongs to different people. Now you don't have to point out who made what item and exactly what it is, if the guest can't tell.

21hmm.. i like the idea, but what if you have a big party with lots of food from many different people? I don't really care about tackiness so I'd probably just use a white board with a list of names and dishes displayed or just make placecards ahead of time and stick em infront of the dish.
22I don't like the idea of chalk dust flying around. If it's a markercloth, that might end up on my kitchen table.
