Cheesiest Odd Couple: Amy Sedaris and Martha Stewart

If you're in need of a little Friday afternoon pick-me-up, I have just the thing for you. Thanks to FourFour, I discovered that entertainer extraordinaire Amy Sedaris appeared on Martha Stewart's show. It was her second visit, and this time she and Martha spent a few minutes making cheeseballs. I love the way Amy — in her adorably childish dress — makes crass jokes about bongwater, while Martha — who is ever so diplomatic — glides right over them with such grace. I adore Amy Sedaris... I have her party cookbook and it's soooo funny but always has some great recipes. We are going to alter one of her cheeseballs recipes to make it look like a spider for Halloween using chopped black olives for the coating.

Amy Sedaris is pretty much one of my favorite people ever. I met her at a book festival last year, and she was making brownies with David Rakoff. She made fun of the fancy chocolate chips provided by Whole Foods. It was great.

Also how fitting that Martha says she wasnt even aware that one of her employees was getting married. I'm guessing she doesnt interact with her underlings very much. Geesh.

Haha, youre so right Ultress, half the stuff goes over Martha's head or else she's too serious to know how to joke around with people like Amy. And Conan as Laimar pointed out. Actually, did you ever see the old Conan episode where both Martha and Amy were guests and Amy teaches her how to make prison grilled cheese with an iron? (pre- Martha's criminal troubles, but extra ironic now) So funny!!
