There's nothing like a weekend of fresh culinary shows to inspire the cook in you — and this morning, PartySugar was gushing about a recipe for Whole Duck with Green Peppercorn Glaze that chef Alex Guarnaschelli made yesterday on her show, Alex's Day Off. She mentioned that even though the recipe looked easy, she'd never made duck at home before. It left me wondering: How many of you have prepared duck at home?

I roasted one for thanksgiving last yr bc i dont like turkey, it turned out great!

No but I would like to try to make it. There is this Thai restaurant that makes a interesting duck dish.

I've made a duck soup with soba noodles, and the roasted duck was really tasty. I often buy smoked duck breast and make a spinach salad with it, too. Duck is one of my faves.

I have cooked it. Now ask how well it turned out :D That's what I get for trying to roast it whole, I think next time I'd be more confident cooking the breasts only.

My folks have a friend that is an avid duck hunter. I have only once tried preparing duck myself. I really didn't care for the game-y flavor. Then again, I cooked it in a crock pot with cream of mushroom soup he suggested. I think that there must be a better way, so I would be open to giving duck another go!
