Do You Order a Special Drink When Flying?

As we approach the end of Summer, chances are you've spent some time these last few months traveling via airplane. Whenever I hit the skies, I treat myself to a ginger ale and cranberry juice mocktail. I try to avoid alcohol while flying (makes jet lag worse!), so this bubbly nonalcoholic drink is just the ticket. I feel a little high maintenance ordering the mixed refreshment, but it's become a ritual and a treat I only divulge in on flights. Do you have an airplane drink? Or do you stick to water or soda?

No way, I thought I was the only one who'd request for a cranberry + ginger ale mocktail when on a flight.... I do that ALL the time! :D Good to know I'm not the only one....If they don't have cranberry juice, I'll ask for orange, or I'll substitute with Sprite if they don't have ginger ale... Usually the flight attendants are pretty nice about it, and I looove mocktails so it makes my flying experience a little calming and worth while!

Cannot drink anything fancy, because I have to take a sedative just to get on a plane. :P

I fly VERY rarely, but I've pretty much only gotten water.

I always get Bloody Mary mix... it's a little spicy and has a good amount of iron in it.

Tomato juice for me, if I'm relaxed about the flight and it's pretty short. I alternate between being nauseatingly nervous about flying and being eerily laid-back and calm (it's worst when I haven't flown in a long time, best if I've flown a lot recently). In retrospect, the tomato juice is probably pretty dehydrating, especially with those peanuts or pretzels; but I guess I crave salt when I fly! Weird. :)

I usually stick to water since soda doesn't actually hydrate you. But your mocktail sounds tasty and I have a looooong day of flying on Friday (Hawaiian vacation! Woo hoo!!) and I think I'll try it out :)

I used to drink whatever soda they had but since I don't drink soda anymore I just drink water or juice.

I definitely have a beer or a rum & coke if it's a stressful flight. Screaming baby on my last flight called for two Heiniken's and loud music.

Usually ginger ale or apple juice - Flying makes me sick to my stomach with fear.

i order 1/2 cranberry juice/1/2 water. the juice is too sweet to drink on its own.

I don't fly often (too expensive and I don't like flying), but when I do, I don't order anything special. Too expensive and I'm content with just water.

I always crave Apple Juice When I fly it quenches the dry mouth from the awful airplane air.

i love the bloody mary mix, but the sodium count in one of those is unreal! Ruins your hard work getting into shape on vacation. I try to just drink water,
