Coconut: Love It or Hate It?

When it comes to this tropical flavor, I'm all about it. I love that the creamy, rich flavor of coconut works in both savory and sweet fare. I even enjoy the coconut meat as is and drink the coconut juice right out of the shell. But if you're not a fan of the taste, you're not alone. I have lots of friends who can't get into coconut desserts and avoid cooking with coconut milk at all costs. So, what's your take?

I love anything and everything to do with coconut, its one of my favorite ingredients in every shape and form

Love it in Thai food and savory dishes but hate it in candy and cookies.

I love all things coconut but green curry with coconut milk is absolute heaven to me.

I love coconut milk in curries, sauces, soups, rice, etc. But for some reason I cannot stand actual coconut. If it has coconut flakes in/on it, I'm running the opposite direction. I can just about stand Malibu but would never drink if it there was a choice to have something else.

im the total opposite, gingirl! lol.. i LOVE coconut in everything savory, sweet and spicy (think, coconut curry) but the last thing I love is Malibu Rum.

Only in my alcohol. I love Malibu rum, but I really can't stand it in much else. Strange, I know. I especially hate the shredded flakes. My mom loves to make a cake for Easter that's shaped like a bunny, and she always uses the coconut flakes for its texture. Made me sad, cause then I could never eat the cake

Love it!!! My grandma makes this really great coconut cake that I absolutely adore. And it's really great if you toast it, too.

Love it! Hard to live without it! I'm from India, and my family is coastal. Mom used it in EVERYTHING and I loved it. Everything savoury I mean. There are very few sweets I like it in. And especially abhor the chocolate and coconut combo.

Funny you asked this question today, it was a topic of discussion at my book club last night. We were split but I really, really don't like coconut unless it is fresh.
