Cupcake of the Week: Mexican Hot Chocolate

Today is National Chocolate Cupcake Day, so I knew I'd have to find a fabulous chocolate cupcake to use as Cupcake of the Week. Luckily my search didn't take too long — there are a lot of amazing cupcakes out there! — and I soon found these Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcakes from flickr user ciao chow. Aren't they lovely?

These are my cupcakes so thanks to everyone for the comments!They were made with a recipe from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World. Everyone loves them. In this picture they have chocolate mousse topping but I made them a week later with just a sifted sprinkling of icing sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder (like the cookbook suggests) and, without the icing, they felt a little more like a cup of hot chocolate in cupcake form.FYI, my avatar is the Gingerbread Cupcake with Lemon Frosting from the same cookbook - a huge hit for autumn! Make some at home and enjoy! The hint of cayenne pepper, dabble of cinnamon, and the ruddy red cocoa powder that I used made these cupcakes so super special.
