Cupcakes in Ice Cream Cones: Love Them or Hate Them?

While I love a scrumptious cupcake, I have never understood serving cupcakes in ice cream cones. This dates back to my childhood, when I first came across the pairing and wondered, what is this? Why is this cupcake being confused for ice cream? I guess what it comes down to is I don't like anything in an ice cream cone but ice cream. How do you feel about the dessert?

I remember my mom made these for one of my bday parties when I was little and being really embarrassed about it for some unknown reason. I look back now and cannot figure out what my problem was. Kids are weird.

I remember them from being a kid. I thought they were OK, but the cones were always too rubbery after being baked. I like those cake cones best with ice cream in them to soften them a bit.

Too dry for me... I always need a drink to eat cupcakes. Now, if there is ice cream in that cone, then maybe..

I'd much rather 86 the cone and mix everything else into a bowl of vanilla ice cream. A cup cream! :drool:

Umm.. can't you just put ice cream in the bottom of the cone and then drop the decorated cupcake gently on top making it an self contained drip proof ice cream cupcake? You know if you serve immediately.

I never liked those type of cones, even with ice cream. The cone is just too dry with a cupcake.

They just aren't right with the cone. The cone works when you have the cold, wet ice cream to soften it up, but with the cupcake it's hard and dry. Yech!
