Let's Dish: What's Your Favorite Kind of Doughnut?

Ever since I heard the news that Dunkin' Donuts is finally going to be opening up shop on the West Coast, I can't stop thinking about doughnuts! I've never had a Dunkin' Donut before and I'm already trying to decide what kind I'll order first.

Jelly-filled? Bavarian Kreme? Maple-frosted? While I love all these flavors, I'll probably go with my all-time favorite doughnut: old-fashioned chocolate. Since everyone has a different preferred doughnut type, I'm wondering what is yours? Which doughnut can you not resist?

Agreeing with Molly - the blueberry cake is outstanding. I also LOVE the strawberry frosted with sprinkles. Also the seasonal specials are really good. and there's a GREAT one called "Butternut" with toasted coconut and peanuts - YUM. EXCELLENT with coffee. (Oh, and I'm lucky, I already have a DD one block from my place.) ;)

everything is good my all time favorite is their STRAWBERRY FROSTED with sprinkles, and it has been my favorite since i was 5. 20 years later I am still eating them. :) mmmmm may have to stop on the way home n pick one up!

Chocolate iced cake, or just plain really fresh cake. By mistake I bought a chocolate iced blueberry donut once--it tasted like bug spray.

Cake donuts are the best, especially blueberry cake donuts. I've never had Dunkin either, and don't think I ever will. I love the Mom and Pop donut shops the best.

Maple bar or chocolate bar. Delightful! But from Dunkin Donuts, my favorite is actually the donut holes, they call them Munchkins. When we used to have one in our town, I would get the assorted cake flavors. Yummy!

Vanilla creme filled. In New England, they were called Vanilla Angels. Been my weakness since I was a kid! So bad, too, cuz its a donut that's essentially filled with cake frosting! But its OH SO GOOD!!!!!
