Do You Cut All Of Your Food Into Pieces Before Eating?
Jul 19 2007 • By
I sort just cut as I go...and I go fast! haha!
I cut as I eat....I agree it's bad manners to cut everything before eating(unless you are a kid)...some say, "who cares about manners"...I think how you eat is a reflection of your upbringing and personality.
it really depends. but there are some people that cut cut cut for five minutes, it drives me crazy.
chutzpah- I think you are taking this WAY too seriously.
nope, i cut as i go.
nope, i cut as i go.
I only cut big breasts of chicken or big filets of fish on salads before I eat it because most of the time I just want to be able to mix the meat in and don't feel like being bothered to cut it before every bit.
Nope. Call me a snob, but I think it's a bit declasse to cut cut cut cut, then chomp chomp chomp chomp. I cut as I go.
I cut as I eat...beyond bad manners to cut your food into pieces before eating. I don't care if I'm home or out to dinner...NEVER, EVER cut everything first! My 25 year old son still cuts all his food before eating and I'm still yelling that I taught him better manners than that. Grow up all of you who cut it all first...that ended in 3rd grade.
I suppose I took this to mean do you cut your food into pieces AT ALL. I cut as I eat, too. Just to clarify.
It depends on what you are eating and who you are eating with.
Most of the time I cut as I eat, but I have noticed that sometimes as a nervous gesture, if I'm in an uncomfortable situation, I'll cut all my food as a diversion.
I learned in middle school home ec that its not proper to cut more that two bites at a time, and I have adhered to this rule ever since.
Absolutely NOT - it's tacky and rude.
I just cut pieces as I eat them, not cut all of them before I start eating.
I could care less about "proper" ways when I want hot food! I've been to some high class dinners but don't often dine with The Queen regardless! I usually cut before I eat because it's much faster that way. I also always got made fun of because my dad cut my steaks until I was about 18! I'm just not good with knives, granted we found out I have muscular dystrophy that affects my hands, but after getting some good sharp Henckels and Forschner knives now I know how bad dull knives suck! I've got much better knife skills now! But still get made fun of!

No, this really annoys me when people cut up all their food. You are supposed to cut as you eat. My ex did this and it made me want to scream.
I know crispet...but luckily she spends more time eating dinner with her boyfriend now so he has taken on the task of doing it for her :)
Wow.. it's just food. Who cares what you do as long as you're not a complete slob about it? I usually cut as I go but if I am at work I may cut up a few pieces first- it's just easier sometimes.
You mean, first cutting the food into pieces and then eat them? It's rude and very childish. I cut, as i eat.
No, it's proper to cut as you eat. The only exception is if I'm making a grilled chicken salad, and then I slice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces before placing them on top of the salad greens.
It really depends on what I am eating and where I am eating. If I am bringing leftovers to work I will cut it up at home, so I don't need to lug as much silverware around. I will also "pre-cut" food if I am reading or doing something else at the same time. If I am sitting at the dinner table I will cut as I go. :)
Tidal, that is so insanely funny!
i like to savor eat bite freshly cut :D
