Have You Eaten Farm Fresh Eggs?

Last weekend my friends Emily and Krys came to stay with me. Emily and Krys live on an amazing little farm in Petaluma, CA, and among other things, they raise their own chickens. As a hostess gift, they brought me two dozen eggs, freshly picked from their coops. We enjoyed the wonderful eggs each morning, and now that I've had farm fresh eggs, I never want to go back to their store-bought counterparts — especially after doing a yolk comparison! Doesn't the vibrant orange yolk (farm fresh) look more appetizing than the sickly pale yellow yolk (store bought)? How about you: what kind of eggs do you enjoy?

I'm always happy when I get farm fresh eggs. I buy cage free eggs usually.

As long as they are not crispy, I'll eat any good egg. Well I take that back, I've seen some who eat a partially formed chick in the egg, don't think I could go for that. White with yolk only please.

My mother-in-law has chickens (among many other things) but the yard, house, animals are so poorly maintained and everything so dirty that I wouldn't feel her chickens eggs are some that should be eaten

If I liked eggs I would buy the farm fresh ones, but since the only time I use eggs are for cakes and such I don't think it would make a difference in taste.

The family farm that hosts our co-op only charges $1.50 a dozen! I get some almost every week.

i always buy cage free eggs, but nothing like farm fresh. though as your picture indicates, it looks so healthy and rich!

Yep, when I can get them. I make a trip out to this one farm near my house to get really cheap eggs and they're so GOOD! The yolks are ten times more yellow than the store-bought ones and they taste so fantastic.

Yes, grew up eating only our own eggs and buy them whenever I can find them. Like all other foods, homegrown is the best!

just last month, i wound up staying a friend's summer house where her uncle had left a carton of mini eggs from martha stewart's farm...turns out he is friends with her hair stylist...very odd, but delicious

my brother won the chicks that his preschool class hatched when we were kids. we took em in and my dad built a coop in the backyard and we even took in some more we got at the feed store. nice to know whats in my eggs and such. pretty cool. weve even got a rooster who crows in the morning lol.

yes! my boyfriend's family only gets fresh eggs because there's a farm closer to their house than there is a grocery store.

My uncle's family recently bought chicks and are raising them so that they can have fresh eggs. I thought they were crazy, but maybe there is something to be said about fresh eggs! I could probably find a co-op.
