Do You Eat Fast Food?

When we heard about the newest addition to the Jack in the Box breakfast menu, some of us at the office got into a heated discussion. I was completely shocked to hear that DearSugar rarely eats fast food and has never been to a Taco Bell in her life!

I, on the other hand, can let loose and enjoy a drive-thru burger every now and then, especially when a late-night craving strikes.

What's your opinion on fast food? Are you willing to eat it?

Not gonna lie, the taco bell up the street is amazing. Taco bells else where though? Usually not so great. I always feel bad afterwards, the calories in that one meal are enough for me all day!

Even the thought of fast food makes me ill. When I walk past a McDonalds or Burger King, the smell makes me cover my nose. It wasn't always like that, only in the last 5-7 years. But I'm really lucky - there is a great Thai takeaway not far from my flat, so if I'm ever unable/unwilling to cook, I go there. It's reasonably priced, the produce is fresh, and they don't use MSG or anything else "yucky". I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have that option, since I'm not the most disciplined about cooking every day.

Disagree about packaged foods being worse than fast food - not at my grocery store and I do grow most of my own veggies and herbs. If I had room for a cow and chickens I would have my own eggs and milk for cheese and butter.

I would love to say I never eat it, but I'd be lying. I eat it about once a week, sometimes more if I'm being lazy, but FH eats it almost daily. I'm reading Fast Food Nation right now, and boy let me tell you, growing up in Greeley I know how true (or even under-emphasized) a lot of that info is. It saddens me that I can't get away from it completely, but I am trying! BTW - I hope you all realize that most of the pre-packaged goods you buy at the store are as bad (if not maybe worse) than fast food. And manufactured by the same companies! Oh, and even 'independent' restaurants buy most of their meat and stuff from the same companies that fast food manufacturers use... ICK! Makes you want to grow all your own food...

i would say only a few times a year tops too. or if i do its normally not a whole meal- might get a milkshake on occasion or fries on occasion but rarely do i have a full out meal!

I never ever eat it. This isn't a conscious choice as much as something that I just don't happen to eat. I don't think we have many fast food places near where I live.

Nope, it's not any good; my cooking blows that crap outta the water. If we're traveling and do eat it - salads all the way, I'm not eating that "whatever it is" burger meat.

I don't really like fast food so it's not something I ever really want. Once in a blue moon on a road trip I'll have no alternative, but even then, I'm challenged trying to figure out what to have. It's not my thing at all.

Unfortunately, with the way I work - that's about all I can eat. On my days off, I don't touch it, haha. At least a lot of fast food places offer healthier choices now!!

When I was bartending and going to school, I only had time for fast food and redbulls. Now I don't eat fast food very much. I've given up McDonalds and now when I do have it, it often makes me sick. I've completely given up KFC. I still enjoy taco bell every once in a while though. Lots of taco salads. :)

I'm a total junk food junkie! If I'm *real* bad, I'll have it 2-3 times per week. Usually though it's only once a week. It looks like I shouldn't try to give it up ever though. I don't want to experience those tummy aches others are experiencing. :p

I love fast food but I try to limit myself to 4-5 times a month. It's great when you're in the mood for something fast and cheap.

i don't eat it frequently, but mcdonald's breakfast sandwiches are so delicious to me. they remind me of going to the airport as a kid! :)

Is that even a question for me? Hell no. I will never ever going to eat fast food in my life ever again after 6th grade. I learned the fact behind their foods and trust me, after knowing the truth about the fast food nation, it just gross me out.

I'm with the other 3-4 times/yr maximum like the other commenters, only in moments of true desperation when there's really no other option (usually on the road at the time). Agreed re stomach ache - Once it's out of your system, all the bad ingredients really irritates your stomach.

used to a lot before we moved....now its maybe once a month. but hubby goes 2-3X's a week...yikes!

About 3x a month for me and it's generally Papa John's, Taco Bueno or Jack and the Box... oh and the occasional Sonic Mac & Cheese bites.

Once in a while, when the craving strikes. And all I know is that when my boss and I take our business trip to California next week, we are DEFINITELY hitting up In N Out!
