I am with most people, I only use kosher salt. I do have a salt and pepper shaker that is used at the table for meals only. I cleaned out some small jars that were originally filled with Classico Pesto. I have one filled with salt and one with pepper, that I use just for cooking. It was such a pain before to either try and get the salt out of the shaker or out of the container. I would always ending up using way too much, or getting salt all over the kitchen.
I have an olive wood salt keep and I love it! I don't know what I would do without it. I understand people saying that they don't need one, but I swear once you use one (filled with Kosher salt) you won't know how you lived without one!
I have a salt shaker, but I also keep the package it came in on a shelf, in case I need more than a sprinkle.
I do plan to get a container for it though, just like for everything else. I hate half used packages of everything falling all over the place! gah!

I have a set of the old glass refrigeratorware that was pre-tupperware, pre-ugly pyrex, from the 40's, I believe. They are clear in various sizes and shapes all with glass lids that are made to stack in the fridge. I use the smallest square ones for salt and course ground black pepper and then the larger ones for flour, sugar, and the water bottle is used for storing olive oil.
i have a small pyrex bowl with a plastic cover that I use. its nice cause I can dip my measuring spoons in for baked goods or just pour a bunch into my pasta water.
Yes, a "salt pig" (Emile Henry). I cannot imagine cooking without it --- you really cannot measure salt precisely with a shaker, and it would be a pain to pour it out of the salt box every time.
I have kosher salt in it, because that is what I use 99% of the time.

I use a old glass jar that I cleaned up. This way it is sealed up and it can not spill or get moisture in it.
